Interesting about "cpu core usage preference" in cs2, I have 14600kf and it sat on "performance cores only" so, game doesn't grab any of E-cores in this scenario, is it bad or no - idk, there is also two other options, like: no preference and prefer perfomance cores.

Nice find but hopefully someone can make use of the science behind this and find us a similar fix based on this fix for AMD. Even though I don't play with any background apps running but probably windows is running hidden stuff.

true but you can move background apps / services to e-cores or out from core 0 ( as far i know cs2 engine make main thread on first core )and set cpu/gpu priority as well.
Edit i dont have experience with AMD and valorant but check core usage and maybe untick background apps from core where is main thread or maybe untick threads and let games use only main cores

I also have a 14600KF. I was playing with e-cores disabled. I turned them on and did what you said. I allocated the remaining services E core. and AC to the last 3-4 p-cores, and for CS2.exe, I selected all p-cores except CPU0. This allowed me to finish the match in Faceit 2500 elo with 16 headshots, 25-9 KD, 16% swing, and a 2.10 rating. (One of my best performances in the last 4 years. Just 3 hours ago, I hit 5 targets and punched the monitor!)
Honestly... I haven't played another game because I wanted to sleep soundly. If I play tomorrow and the following days and it's permanent, I'll share it here.

I use process lasso almost year , its help a lot on 12700k , i dont know about desync or hit reg but help with frame times and P1 fps. Also i recommend use affinity for GPU, USB and nic to move from core 0
Edit i talk about cs2 i forgot sat , i dont know nothink about valorant
That plays into my other suspicion of the science behind why this fix is working for me. Apparently most modern games will handle the networking aspect of the online game onto one specific core. Figuring out which one and avoid putting any apps that saturate it is what leads to the hitreg fix, as just core saturation on threads streaming the visual information would likely lead to things like fluxating input lag, framedrops, bad frame pacing etc...

One could probably min max this if they were, through trial and error, able to find which core is handling the network aspect for the chosen game and trying to isolate it as much as possible.

its easy

open powershell and write
get-netadapterRSS
find the name of your ethernet and than
set-netadapterRSS -name "YOURNETWORKCARDNAME" -baseprocessornumber 0 -maxprocessornumber 1

you can change baseprocessornumber to any specific core

Could you tell me how you recorded CPU usage using HWiNFO? Did you enable anything in the program itself, display a graph? Where can I see this in HWiNFO, on which tab? Could you take a screenshot in HWiNFO?

Can you also help with your point 3 in Process Lasso?

In Process Lasso, right-click a running instance of the background app (e.g., `chrome.exe`, `Discord.exe`) and set its **default CPU affinity by process name (not just the current instance) to only CPUs 12-19. This makes the rule apply automatically to every future process with that name, which matters because Chrome/Discord spawn many separate processes (one per tab, GPU process, helper processes, etc. – this is normal Chromium/Electron architecture, not a bug).
Could you take a screenshot in Process Lasso?
As far as I understand, you didn't bind processors 0-11 (p-cores) to each specific game in process lasso?
I'm sorry, I just don't understand all the points.

In HWmonitor go to tools>Start Recording (F5)>Play game with your normal assortment of apps running>tools>End recording>take file and ask an ai to analyze your core usage percentages from the file.

For Process lasso:
Right Click on a exe like chrome, you only have to click on one of them to get all the threads to behave with the same rules.

After you select cpu affinity always tab a little box will open that looks like this:

Finally assign background programs to your e-cores. Process lasso makes it easy with a e-core autodetection and button you can select, or just know your processors specs.

Thx!
Is it still necessary to bind to cores in process lasso for games?
