As I replied on OCN, I tested 30 fps in the 2720Z, VG248QE and my laptop.
All looked horrible. The VG248QE looked slightly better since Asus overdrive implementation is better than Benq's (more steps in tracefree) but not by much. That's three monitors I tested. All look like crap at 30 fps.

I don't see how your 2420TE could look better...it's impossible, unless you were somehow running at 60 fps and didn't know it...that's the only way the TE could look better than the Z...its the same AMA implementation. Same panel. Even the firmware is the same except for some extra additions to the LC for non PWM backlight and for controlling strobe.

If you don't believe me, look for yourself.

he even takes apart a 2411Z and compares it to a 2411T...(which is the same as the TE except fewer inputs)

How can I show pictures?
I don't have a camera. And still pictures don't show anything.
30 FPS...is just horrible.
you can test it yourself ..its a blurry mess. It's always been a blurry mess on any LCD.
CRT's weren't this bad because they strobe, and they usually have a smoothing effect from what I think is phosper persistence/decay? (so it isn't as blurry as a lcd, while not having the 'quadruple image' effect.. (sorta the same reason why when FPS drops below hz, the image looks better on a CRT than it does on a strobing backlighit LCD). Chief can probably explain what I'm referring to better than I can.

Took pictures of mine in the other thread (ACU game) with my iphone 5 camera, took 10 shots per second-- decent shutter speed. Yeah it is blurry as hell and it was an actual representation of what I'm seeing. I just want to compare XL2411Z to your XL2420z @ 30 fps.

Grab your phone and record monitor?

Problem isnt the framerate, problem's the monitors.
30fps games were fine for me before, Ive used monitors mainly for consoles AND pc games @ 30fps just fine without this choppy juddering/doubleimage effect.

As I said on OCN, played ~150h Dark Souls PTD (30fps game) on steam with a TE exclusively, and had no issue what so ever, I could turn around quite rapidly and suffer no real problems, no it wasnt blur free (never is) but sure was working just fine for me.
It also worked fine on my PS3 with GTA 5.

I don't know man.
I tested three monitors for you.
VG248QE, XL2720Z and some 60hz laptop monitor.
Ran all screens at 60hz.
All produced the same crappy image at 30 FPS locked counterstrike source (free cam).
So how is your XL2420TE producing a better image than three of my screens (using two different computers?)
I even linked the page where strobemaster disassembled the monitors. The hardware is so similar that you can actually flash a 2411T with a 2411Z firmware, although strobing and flicker free backlight don't work (the hardware/wire is missing for the PWN free light and the strobe wire simply increases the LED current).
I simply do not see how what you are observing is possible.
Your video shows what 30 FPS is like on any LCD screen, going back God knows how far. It looks completely normal. Even Chief can look at it and agree.

Also you aren't going to get a quadruple image effect if strobing is off. You're just going to get a blurry mess.
With strobing ON, however, single strobe and double strobe look almost the same because the framerate is too low. Both give quadruple image, but double strobe gives a brighter and non flickering image, so I'd use that. I will say that having any form of strobing did look slightly better than any of the monitors in non strobed blurry mode.

You need to get ahold of that 2420TE and record it, because what you're implying simply isn't hardware possible. The only possible things that could affect a 30 fps signal would be running at 30hz, running interlaced, or some other mode that you didn't run before. Especially when you are using the EXACT SAME panel (XL2411Z=XL2420TE=same panel, just fewer connections)

The last time someone had a problem like this (on PC), they found out it was user error, and the monitor was completely fine.

I don't have a cell phone.
What makes you think I have a cell phone and a camera?
I DONT.
I have a landline and that's all.
Yeah, there are people in the world who don't have camera or cellphones!

Anyway,
I hooked up the VG248QE (again) and the 2720Z and put them into clone mode.
Ran Dark souls 1 and locked the FPS to 30 (had it unlocked with dsfix to 60fps before).

Turned (with a xbox 360 pad) and watched both monitors. Turned at different speeds.
No difference.
Both looked exactly the same.

At tracefree=80, the VG looked -slightly- better than the Benq's AMA high; there was some slight inverse trailing (known 'problem' with benq's AMA) that wasn't on the VG248. At tracefree 100, the VG had too much inverse trailing and looked worse than the Benq. At tracefree 0 and Benq AMA set to off they looked the same. But overall there was no 'judder' or anything that somehow made the 2720Z look likle it couldn't 'handle' 30 fps. Both were a nasty blurry mess when turning fast.

Enabling double strobe actually helped the Benq look better than the Asus.

IM gonna install DS1 and record that, see if its the same deal, if not then its something with HDMI that the monitor simply cant handle well.. or something

Set my monitor 60hz in win7, and 60hz in ACU (w/ latest 1.3 patch) game options with 50-60fps and with Strobe Buster's Strobe Utility, and it is awesome, no blurring even with fast motion - picture perfect, but it is with rare stuttering/juderring if it gets below 55 fps. The flickering I don't notice even a bit while playing, maybe the in game brightness is higher than on win7 desktop?

To try out I hooked my friend's Xbox One console into my xl2411z test the blurriness when panning the camera around @ 30fps, sadly the results were the same with OP. So I would not recommend this monitor for console gaming for now.
