In my total input latency tests, the graphics card accounts for about 70%, while the network card accounts for 30% (I did not use a dedicated sound card). As far as I know, a graphics card’s VBIOS contains a complex set of operational policies; these can cause fluctuations whenever you plug in a new USB device, though the input latency eventually returns to its baseline.*wh!Ssp3r?? wrote: ↑19 Oct 2026, 10:56How come every mouse feels different if graphics, network and sound card and all the settings are the same?

Some graphics cards have "perfect" VBIOS versions available, while others do not. Furthermore, flashing a VBIOS carries the risk of a "black screen" (rendering the card unusable), and it must also be properly coordinated with the network card’s drivers and BIOS.
Think of the operating system as the chassis and engine of a car, while these components—the graphics card and network card—act like the gear sets in a transmission; the gears must mesh perfectly for everything to work as it should.
