Here's what you do.
Give Benq a call on their 800# and ask to talk to someone.
Just do it.
Explain the exact problem you have with the VG248 and that you want to buy one of their monitors but you're worried that it might not solve your problem. Be polite and explain that you heard good things about Benq's customer service and their hardware, so you want to buy directly from them. Also ask about their return policy (if the headache problem isn't solved, but it probably will be). Benq is MILES ahead of Asus in customer support and I think they'll take care of you.

I had my S-switch break and I called them up and I had a NEW S-switch the VERY NEXT DAY. Yes-the next day. They shipped it the same day....
