V1 to v4 has improvements even without blur reduction. Not placebo. I think I noticed improvements on my 2720Z too but it's hard to tell with all the blurry mess if BBR is off :(

Lonewolf noticed blur reduction improvements going from V2 to V4 even without the AMA toggle, on his XL2411Z. He said that V2 blur reduction at default AMA high was just too ugly (too many overdrive artifacts) to use in games. V4 was miles better to him even without toggling. He even said the AMA premium (toggle) was better than V2 default high.

Why haven't Benq advertised this firmware and put it on their website? Seriously, V4 turns these monitors into a completely NEW screen as far as blur reduction overdrive is concerned.

Someone tell benq to PUT THIS ON THEIR WEBSITE and to MARKET IT.

Yeah the V4 AMA presets are a good improvement over V2 (I have the XL2411Z) so thanks to everyone for the information and the installation steps!

Since after the firmware flashing some of the advanced monitor settings reset this is what you need to do if blur busters tool gives you an error with V4 (you are probably in burn in mode - if that's the case the monitor power on button will be orange instead of green).

1) power off the monitor
2) hold second button from the left for 5 seconds and power on the monitor
3) keep holding the second button until monitor turns on
4) release the button
5) use the 4th button to bring up the service menu (the one with the RGB and color options)
6) you should see Burn in mode at the bottom, set it to off
7) power off the monitor

Do the same steps, this time the normal menu will appear, from there Set DVI HPD to On.
Now blur busters tool should work.
