Deleting this post. I wasn't very thorough and did a quickie calibration. Upon further investigation, the monitor was running out of green after 88 on the contrast.

Colors are very different at 60Hz, 100Hz, 120Hz and 144Hz.

120 hz. It plays the nicest with NTSC video standards.

It's really a moot point as these settings aren't going to get anyone exactly to where my monitor is. There should however be a marked difference in the gamma curve from the monitor at default. Hopefully it gets people somewhere near the 2.2 range. Far less likely there's a chance this will get you somewhere in the vicinity of D65. Really there's no replacement for hardware calibration. You can only eyeball things so much.

This is quite true. That said, forum settings can be a good starting point, as the error margin of the average user eyeballing can sometimes be greater than the error margin of the differences between factory manufactures of the same display model -- which is often smaller than the fairly large color difference between 60Hz versus 144Hz.

That said, I definitely recommend the i1 Display Pro, as that does the job much better than eyeballing.

Actually, I use the i1 pro which is a spectrophotometer. I highly recommend it, but I doubt most folks are going to drop $1,000 on a calibration package. The i1 display pro that you recommend is a colorimeter and is much more affordable at $250. It's been a while since I followed the calibration scene. So I'm not sure if that's the best choice in that price range.

You might want to comment to user MonarchX about the default color graphs of unadjusted ULMB.

I just wanted to post back and say that I tried the method used by xCaraggbaj and that ICC profile looks great at 120 or 144. ULMB looks pretty good too, though admittedly I don't really use that setting much.

I did find bumping up the Luminance setting to about 40 was more in line with how I liked the settings and has the added benefit of balancing the brightness setting on G-Sync a bit more evenly. The default brightness when first installing G-Sync seemed to have little variation from 0-100. There was really only 0-50-100; everything in between was minimal. Now, with Luminance @40, I have a wide range of adjustment.

These color settings are pretty spot-on for me. I have my Nvidia control panel colors at stock w/Dig Vibrance at 72 and it looks amazing.

One notable difference is the effect of Contrast: I've actually bumped the contrast to 85, and this combined w/the colors leads to gaming benefits: I can more easily see distinction in objects when moving fast, which means I get shot less

So, while the settings for luminance and contrast seem to work, the SoftMCCS color settings actually do nothing. The ICC profile works fine, but I can literally max or min any color and nothing happens.

I think something is missing here.

Are you selecting the User 1 bullet and clicking Apply?

I bought a ColorMunki today. Here are my settings (144hz, D65, 120cd/m), if anyone wants to try them. Though, like Chief said, optimal settings can greatly vary based on the monitor -- just look how different my settings are compared to the previous two in this thread. Edit: Hell, mine change drastically based on where I place the colorimeter on my screen, and my profile changes every time even when I don't move it...
