Scanning edgelights will still be prone to crosstalk problems due to the leakage of light from the ON segments to the OFF segments. You need a really tightly-coupled MiniLED array to become a very good scanning backlight.

At higher refresh rates (360Hz+) it is possible that the average effects of a DyAc scanning edgelight is worth it, to massively reduce top/bottom crosstalk in exchange for perhaps only slightly worsening screen-center crosstalk. However, it is still a pick-poison compromise.
