I've actually been waiting since they announced this monitor at the end of Oct hoping to buy it the second it was available. I've never heard of NCIX before, how reputable are they? Worth ordering from them to get it now?

I've heard of many people ordering from NCIX with no problems. They are located in Canada, as well.

The good news is that my firmware has arrived for my beta XL2720Z, and I'll be installing it this weekend, if all goes well.

Oh nice, maybe I'll wait till you get your review done. This is my first real "gaming" monitor I've looked at buying, and the first device over 60hz. I've always spent a lot more time looking at the spec's on my video card and such to improve my gaming instead of my monitor. When do you think you'll have your review up? Also, what are your first impressions of the monitor?

Yes! I've got 3 of these bad boys coming :-) I'll let you guys know how they run in Surround. Looking forward to the 75Hz strobing mode with vsync on so I can crank up the details on some newer games to max! Hopefully the mouse lag will be bearable at that refresh rate.

Git, let us know when you get them and how they work for you. Also, your experience with NCIX too.

Will do :) I selected the fastest shipping that they had available and UPS says they won't be delivered until next Friday. I can't complain too much I guess. I did manage to get 3 of them 8-)

Linus Tech Tips is from NCIX I believe so I'm hoping for a decent experience.

UPDATE (March 2014):
Blur Busters Strobe Utility is now RELEASED
http://www.blurbusters.com/strobe-utility/

Old Post wrote:Heads up, since it's only fair I inform readers of Blur Busters. I recently discovered an issue in the firmware of the XL2720Z, and it appears that some monitors are shipping with this firmware version.

With this test:
1. Enable Blur Reduction
2. Go to http://www.testufo.com/blurtrail
3. Select Height -> Full Screen
4. If you see this below, your XL2720Z may have a strobe timing bug (strobe flash occurs too early):

I now have a beta firmware for my XL2720Z that makes this fixable, but I don't think the monitors currently shipping, contains this firmware.

The price I usually pay for living on the bleeding edge :) Maybe I'll go 3 for 3 and they'll all be good! I'll definitely let you know though. Thanks, Chief :)
