Chill, please. I already know to post a disclaimer. In a simpler way though. Already part of the plan.

Also, you may underestimate the useful precision I can pull out of a 1000Hz mouse in a web browser, and how often Chrome team uses TestUFO to improve Chromium. Many mentions of “testufo” in the issues tracker system that were used to fix past issues.

I'm not sure having a better MouseTester (C++ / HTML or otherwise) is what the future of mice benchmarking is. Mice testing endgame probably looks more like this:
Very good comments....but:

You just spoiled the surprise of my upcoming article :D — it also involves a mechanical rig. But I don’t want to reveal more in this thread yet. The TestUFO mouse tester is not part of the 8000Hz tests, but as a separate parallel way popularize one method of mouse tests — a parallel “mouse splash” tie-in, per se, for lesser mouse testing since browsers aren’t 8KHz-reliable yet anyway (under 10%).

Just like TestUFO cannot be used for all display tests either, it’s just some possible tools in the toolbox. I already put a small testing-limitations disclosure and I am also already planning to put disclosures in the upcoming TestUFO mouse tester. But I’ll be attacking the ease angle (zero-additional-equipment angle) too, even if it is but just mere one way to test a mouse. But by popularizing one zero-equipment-zero-download mouse test, interests people into advanced tests. The reviewers who originally tested links now buy equipment to do better tests like GtG heatmapping etc. Free razors, meet blades. It’s also like how my handwave smartphone pursuit camera can lead someone to later purchase a mechanical camera rail.

So many people here miss the point of how Blur Busters operate... That is partially my fault, but over time that is being remedied with a 2021 clearer separation of Blur Busters Media (Mainstream/easy tests/show tells) and Blur Busters Laboratory (Advanced/engineering/equipment/consulting). It already operates that way but they really need their separate websites soon.

Just because there a specialty torx screwdriver/wrench/drill in the toolbox, doesn’t eliminate the need for Simpler tools like a pencil/hammer/ruler in the same toolbox. TestUFO is an easy tool that introduces workshop newbies to more advanced tools.
im chill, but due to very unique personality & physiological mind i appear overly aggressive/insane/pathalogical liar/LARPer/schizophrenic or combination of such since i dont use same parts of brain circutry to compute as normal mind would(includes words i use, writing style, normal human personality traits and everything else)

about disclaimer, as long as its clear that research/benchmarks/findings cannot be applied for upper exponentionally (double/triple) more demanding edge cases then thats all i really wanted since start, otherwise it only causes harm to bleeding edge group of people.

again, Chrome engine is developed for mass appeal (very big % of browser share) so their optimization/engineering is not for highest performance/lowest latency, a perfect example of this is how they dont enforce windows timer interval to 0.5/1ms anymore due to laptop users complaining(as well as casual desktop users - bruce dawson blog post is a good reference here https://randomascii.wordpress.com/2013/ ... ts-wasted/ ).

every single latency esports enthusiast has this timer FORCED to 0.5ms interrupt interval!
( source to tool/service: https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/windo ... ce.376458/ )

just this one setting causes them to be completely outcased from any browser measures. and to top it off theres over 300+ BIOS/OS/RAM/CPU/driver/services settings of same or bigger impact. and all of them stack together, more and more of them being used/applied causes that 0.9% of enthusiast to turn into 0.000001% or less(these are the people actually curious about latency and have atleast some understanding of miliseconds).

a general disclaimer is not enough because it doesn't help enough to defend a top 0.9% outcast enthusiast due to being outweighted by authority and masses(dont forget these masses are attached to their purchase which makes it even more difficult), so i think a targeted esports low latency disclaimer would be alot better.

i hope some of the changes about Blur Busters in 2021 will be more oriented towards helping latency chasing enthusiasts everyone considers insane and attacks with milli/micro/nano seconds not mattering (it will most likely require fishing and teaching how to fish at same time due to loss of hope inside such individuals once they discover how bad things actually are for low latency, you might need a bigger boat), after all those people are responsible for pushing the limits. good example of this is NVIDIA Reflex and their educational videos (ty Seth ) that enthusiasts can link to whenever their theories and asking for help about miliseconds are questioned. there is already alot of great content on BlurBusters articles, but its not enough when one enthusiast stands alone against the whole crowd, for that you need to go all the way as NVIDIA did in their Reflex videos and show actual measured results/impact + a CS Go/Valorant pros to top it off even further(probably unnecessary).

any tool no matter how small or simple is great if it helps someone, there is only a problem when that tool is used wrong or used to solve a problem it wasnt created to. thats when issues, confusion and false benchmarks happen.

Mouse test is not rocket science. There are many tools used to test the mouse online software work well to test all kind of Mouse gameing mouse scroll drag test and gaming button test.

Test your mouse online: clickspeeder mouse test is best to test mouse

i may or may not have already read this but I'll reread it later on, just putting this out here for now : hamsterwheel. the maker still hasn't made a tutorial about how to use all the listed features on the github. otherwise doesn't feel like anywhere close to a replacement of areson(does not even keep all the tracking trail), but has some cool alt features.
