Have you even tried installing an earlier driver than 451.48?
It won't work without inf modding.
Nvidia INF driver modding (Guide)]
Though it still has nothing to do with the question of the author of the thread...

When I try to download drivers from the Nvidia 'Beta and Older Drivers' section for my 1070 series card the earliest driver I can download is 451.48, I'm using 441.41 drivers.
441.41 is fully compatible with 1000 series GPUs.

You can test if yourself by installing any old driver that doesn't have 1000 series support.

I don't need to because I am able to use disablewritecombining, but it seems no one here has tried and can prove it.
I will gladly test driver 441.41 on my FE RTX 3090 with inf modding the driver later today or tomorrow. There is no need to prove that a stock 441.41 wont install though because it literally wont identify the card, that's how display drivers work. It's not in the code. The question if the inf modded driver will work is unanswered though and like I said, I will test it when I get the time.
If it doesnt, I do hope there is some way to still disable it. Nvidia wrote a latency article that mentioned Write Combining in October of 2020. The driver that ditched disabling write combining came out months before that. Nvidia's misinformation here is frustrating.
UPDATE: INF modding driver 441.41 does not work to install it on an rtx 3090.

It has been proved long time ago already and it's rather axiom than theory at this point.

1. patch the kernel to patch the driver call
2. sell nvidia gpus they suck. their tiled rendering mode is a joke on top of all other scams they deceive the consumer audience with more FPS which many many % (like 90%) never end up being sent on screen as actual frame but tiled through multiple frames. like prerendered frames scam.

Nooby question, but pls answer
I'm on win7 and a GTX 1080 Ti so there's nothing stopping me from reverting to 441.41 from my current driver verion (471.68) and just applying the registry tweak, right?

I'm sorry to hear that.
Does anyone know any other ways to get DisableWriteCombining to work on 3000 series GPUS? or is it just with the 3090?
Nvcleanstall have an option for it, did u check that?
