Fun fact, this is first 360Hz (390Hz) AMD FreeSync Premium monitor. So no G-SYNC module and variable overdrive. This is not good news for such a wide refresh range. This could mean they'll implement more levels of overdrive than usual. There is no user manual online to check info on this.

I wonder if you can use blur reduction at 390hz.

The other batch of 360hz only has blur reduction at 240hz (or not at all in the case of the Dell variant).

getting close to that sweet 480hz 1080p milestone.

I've ordered one. I hope a miracle and that it's better tuned, for fps>350, than the Acer X25 with Gsync module ( 0% transisitions within refresh window without artifacts ).

Since the Discorz posted this topic week or 2 ago,i searched entire www 4 some info on mbr range,and coudnt find jack shit about it..and yet they still sell it..

what i meant by that is d fact not giving that type of information,
maybe 5-10 years ago it was not so relevant,
but in this day and time its unheard off

its like going 2 buy a new car,and they not telling you if its run on petrol or gas or electricity

The problem with blur reduction is you want framerate=Hz, and 390fps is hard to reach.



Also, 120fps @ 120Hz has less motion blur & looks visually better than mismatched 250fps @ 360Hz blur reduction for multiple reasons, including framerate=Hz, as well as the refresh rate headroom is good for strobing techniques.

That said, 390fps at 390fps already produces a good deal of strobeless blur reduction with just only about ~2.6ms MPRT (1/390sec MPRT) without needing a strobe backlight. While not as good as a strobe backlight (1ms MPRT for bright enough), the lack of crosstalk and the lack of flicker, can make strobeless blur reduction preferable.

That's why Blur Busters is a big advocate of 1000fps 1000Hz monitors in the future -- 1ms MPRT without a strobe backlight! -- see Blur Busters Area 51 for all the good textbook learning stuff.

In these refresh rate stratospheres, it is preferable (quality-wise) to use strobeless motion blur reduction (brute frame rate + zero flicker), rather than strobe-backlight motion blur reduction.

Yes, I have it. You can use VRB @390hz. Now, using the UFO ghosting test, it is as clean if not cleaner than dyac+ @240hz I can confirm that having used that panel as well. Chief, that is a good point that its difficult to reach in other games. In Battlefield 4, however, it is not difficult to reach running the game at 1600x1024.. all low mesh ultra. So I need to get stuff straight here Chief. Should I just turn on VRB for bf4, and then turn gsync back on for single player games ? or just leave gync on, cap it at 387hz, and call it a day.

It is sort of a pain with this panel because everyday you boot your pc up you need to turn VRB on it never saves not sure why. Also, if anyone is wondering if brightness is reduced at 390hz with VRB on, nope! no brightness reduction whatsoever. Unless you use VRB on Extreme. However, using ghosting test I don't notice much of a diff between normal and extreme anyway..

Good news!, VRB at 390Hz and no brightness reduction.

Please. What do you think about motion clarity without vrb, ghosting, overshoot?. It appears to have only three overdrive levels.
With which monitors can you compare it?

Ooh, this would be worlds first 390Hz strobing monitor then! I'm extremely curios how those ufos look with both VRB enabled and disabled. Can you provide some pursuit videos or pictures? Can you change overdrive with VRB enabled?

Its hard for me to believe it looks good since today's IPS is not fast enough. At least it should have either multiple ghosts images behind or overshoot or both combined.

I tired to simulate some VRB ufos in ps for what I would expect it to look like. Which one would you say is the closest (if any) to your XV252QF?

Not sure if you'd benefit much from 390Hz strobing tho. If you can't tell the difference in motion clarity or tearing go with VRB off.

One workaround could be leaving your monitor always powered on, maybe going to sleep doesn't disable it?
