Do you use 2 monitors at once? I had the same problem where I got no bios picture on my main monitor. It only helped to turn off the other monitor.
In terms of input lag and refresh rate. It's wrong that lower hz will reduce lag. It's totally wrong...
Increasing the refresh rate will result in faster scan out times. 99% of the 240hz monitors have around 3ms on 240hz, 5-6ms on 144hz and 9-15ms on 60hz!!!
So what you are doing is actually increasing the lag.
Can you please tell us the name of your monitor you get problems with?

On some very old monitors when you use different cables, it can either increase or decrease the lag. For example, I get more lag on DP then on DVI-D Dual Channel on my VG248QE! It's because, DVI-D is the native port on my monitor. That's MAYBE your case. But saying "lower your HZ for less Lag" is very wrong!

I only have 1 monitor and my point is sometimes playing with 240 hz is not stable. Maybe due to "my xg2530 monitor". So lowering the hz makes monitor more comfortable.

Yesterday I ordered HDMI 2.1 cable which i think solved the problem. Hovewer I cant get picture from BIOS using HDMI 2.1 :)
Now I am using 2 cables. DP 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 together... Also I can clearly say that, todays hardwares are not well optimized or tested. They are just advertising and getting our money i guess. If you are having weird delay etc. Try to lower your monitor Hz or ram speeds and timings as well.

TLDR: I am using windows with hdmi 2.1, going into bios with DP 1.4...
did hdmi 2.1 cable reduce latency than dp cable ????
