GLQuake on a 3Dfx Voodoo1 at 512x384 (for the leet 60fps framerates) on a very expensive 17" Samsung SyncMaster 17GLSi. I had bought that CRT monitor two years prior in 1995, for a whopping $1249 when everyone else was still using 13" or 14" CRTs. I got the 3Dfx Voodoo (Diamond Monster 3D) in February 1997.
What 3dfx? They didn't exist back when the game came out.

I bought Quake on release day. I still have the box. It was MS-DOS only. I was playing on 320x200. It was awesome.

I'll be making a detailed WinDAS guide in the near future, and will post the link here when I've made it. In the mean time, you want to get your hands on a DTP-94 aka Monaco Optix XR, and you'll need a USB to TTL adapter to connect to the back of the unit.

Yes, you'll definitely need it if you want accurate colors, and you'll also need it to keep the display healthy by adjusting the luminance targets appropriately.

I want Sony FW900 but in Portugal doesn't exist it... :(

My history of CRT monitors:
1st: 14" monitor AOC (1993) -- I got eyestrain due to this "bad" brand
2nd: 17" Samtron 70E (1999)
3rd: "first" 19" Samsung SyncMaster 957MB (feb, 2007 but not new and used" and it's died in apr, 2014)
4th: 21" Samsung SM 1100DF (dec, 2007 but "used") :D but it was died in apr, 2008 :(
5th: "other" 21" SM 1100DF (apr, 2008 but "used"; died apr, 2010 -- but the issue is same to older 1100DF)
6th: 21" SM 1100P Plus (may, 2010 but "used"; died dec, 2013)
7th: 21" SM 1100MB (apr, 2014 but "used") :D -- but maintenance due to horizontal line problem in top of screen

NOTE: I still use my "newer" CRT 19" SM 957MB ("temp" but it's for my brother). ;)

look up monaco optix xr - same thing different name. You should be able to find it for much cheaper if you keep looking. Look at ebay.com and consider paying for international shipping.

I wouldn't recommend a DTP-94 for anything but a CRT, unless you have a spectroradiometer to profile it. If you want an all round good instrument, go with the i1 display pro.

Ok i will look to the monaco and probably buy it.
I have turned on my F520 after a long time and i have to say: damn this shit looks good even if it need calibration / tuning.
Can i get to know when u guys will release the HowTo Guide with Windas etc? i want to calibrate this unit and see it in flawless moments before it dies on me. ( i cant get another because here in germany they are very rare and the most of them are very far away :/ )
