I'm sure both work the same, I only tested mine with an Nvidia GPU thoughLikeableSloth wrote: ↑04 Nov 2020, 18:26Good thing there is half a ms differnce between them for the AW vrr on vs off. Freesync or Gsync when you use vrr is my question since it has both?Stevie66 wrote: ↑04 Nov 2020, 17:59No, it has some strange OD with adaptive sync on that gives decent results with 2 of the OD settings, with adaptive sync off only 1 OD is good to use.
05/22/2020 UPDATE. The IPS 240hz monitor tier list.(I've measured/tried the all) and my honest explanation why.

Doesn't need a native g sync module. Its scaler is better than the nvidia g sync version.
The variable OD range is from 90-240. That is insanely good.
The g2g response time at 120hz is 2.6ms on super fast OD. With zero overshoot(g sync on). I kid you not, this is the best ps5/series x console monitor in my opinion. Not so much for older console that is stuck at 60 fps.
60-85hz there is overshoot. So I dp not recommend 60-85 fps for the aw2521HFL

Been on the fence for sometime now about the Alienware AW2521HF or ASUS VG25/279QM. I'm also a relatively competitive RL player (1850 in 2s and 1800 in 3s) but I also want a monitor that will give me good colour reproduction. I'm wondering which might be the better choice.
p.s. I had heard that the Viewsonic ELITE XG270QG also has good color reproduction for a 240hz IPS panel.

All 240hz IPS have good colours for gaming after calibrating

Which overdrive do you use for RL? Do you play with g sync on?RLCScontender wrote: ↑05 Nov 2020, 15:00

There is not a massive difference at at all, I've owned 5 different ones and after calibration they are so similar for gaming that you won't even tell the difference. This isn't photo editing you know.

Been looking at the legion y25-25 since its the cheapest 240hz ips and uses the same panel as the mag251rx,vg259qm. Can't seem to find any reputable reviews on it online. Thoughts?

This is what RLCSContender said about the legion y25-25:unglapungla wrote: ↑08 Nov 2020, 22:47Been looking at the legion y25-25 since its the cheapest 240hz ips and uses the same panel as the mag251rx,vg259qm. Can't seem to find any reputable reviews on it online. Thoughts?
"Lenovo Legion y25-25 has horrible pixel inversion artifacts along with the HP Omen x27 to the point where you are able to actually see them. THE QC from lenovo is probably the reason why most retailers refuse to sell their products. The ASus VG279QM's pixel inversion artifacts aren't as bad as the HP Omen x27 or the Lenovo Legion y25-25 but it's very noticeable thanks to its horrible Pixel density. The terrible colors, bad color uniformity(whites look yellowish, blacks look gold) amplify it. Although it's a notch above my 16 yr old Sanyo 720 HDTV. 720p absolutely sucks and there are motion artifacts every where".
