Tnx. I found it out later also.
I could not believe anyone would play on a monitor with 150 nits or even 30 nits. And did not understand why these options are in there.
It had to be a mistake the way Hardware unboxed CASUALLY said that 150nits! is a good balance between playabilty and motionblur deductibility. (He says this is the ULMB2 video https://youtu.be/LZndZ7NWnZs?si=MxwKDHwOqvYalNS8&t=720 12:02 .)
Evidently these people do exist and dont have a superdark sunglasses expierencie with nits that low. Me personally I feel like a blind man needing a blindman stick to aim with 150 nits. Respectfully.
Not saying you need over 400 nits to see well in game, but 250-300 nits range is the minimum depending on how bright you room is.
I will probely buy it at amazon when its availble in W Europe. If its to dark I send it back and most likely buy the Acer Nitro XV242F 540 hz that uses the same panel but withouth ULMB2.
And this new eTN panel is already excellent without BFI, I wouldn't even bother using BFI on it and prioritize a lower input lag + better brightness. That's why I am definitely looking forward the Acer XV242F, it would also allow me to save a few hundreds euros (Asus is overpriced in Europe + extra euros for GSync module...).

Re: ASUS ROG Swift 500Hz Announced!
BFI increases input lag, hence yes disabling it will decrease it and make it back to the "normal" input lag of the display. On the XL2566K we talking about 2.1ms vs 3.9ms input lag with BFI according to rtings. And if you want your BFI to be efficient, you need fps>Hz which can be tricky on a 540Hz display, or you need to use BFI at lower Hz (then you kinda waste the potential of the monitor...).Hitesh12 wrote: ↑16 Nov 2023, 01:35Does disabling BFI reduces input lag?Jefa35 wrote: ↑14 Nov 2023, 07:44300-350 nits on the PG248QP, which is already pretty good, is with ULMB 2.0 on. Considering the fact that this new 540Hz is already excellent without BFI, I don't think paying the extra for the GSync module and ULMB 2.0 of the Asus is worth.

Re: ASUS ROG Swift 500Hz Announced!
I bought a PG248QP 540hz and here's a little bit of hilarity. There is currently no way to mount it with VESA safely.
The box comes with no VESA equipment, unlike some of Asus' other monitors.
If you try to mount it to your monitor arm, you will discover that a standard VESA mounting plate blocks the G-sync fan. Yes, they put the g-sync fan's only ventilation intake INSIDE THE VESA MOUNT! Lmao
So looking at Asus other monitors that don't cost $900, they include a special VESA plate and standoffs that allows the gsync module to get air. But the instructions for PG248QP 540hz simply say: "The 100x100 VESA wall mount kit is purchased separately."
If you Google, there is no such kit from Asus. At least not in the US market.
So if you spend $900 on this monitor and are hoping to use it with a monitor arm, sorry - not happening

Can u please tell me what monitor u had before this monitor and how the brightness hold up with ulmb2 with 100 pulsewidth on the pg248qp compared to your old monitor when u enabled backlightstrobing on your old monitor? (If it had backlightstrobing ofc)
I am very curious what monitor u had before! hope to hear from u!!

The PG248QP has more brightness with ULMB + 100 pulsewidth, maybe 50-75% brighter to my eyeballs. But my XL2540 is old (purchased at release date) and backlights decrease in brightness with age so it's not the fairest comparison.
