It's an Nvidia driver issue I believe. I've had it with my PG278Q and from what I can tell it only happens @ 60 Hz. As the button on the display cycles the refresh rates, when it hits 60 Hz you get a blank screen. It seems the display has a hard time accepting the refresh rate change command when it's stuck like this too as even moving from 120 Hz to 144 Hz takes several presses and wait whereas normally it is nearly instant.

So far the fix has been clean reinstalling Nvidia drivers, disconnecting DP cable and reconnecting. If the 144 Hz option is missing, try adding it via Nvidia control panel using "Custom resolution". For me it simply adds it to the native res instead of creating a custom resolution. For some reason in Screen resolution -> Advanced 144 Hz is available but only works with 256 colors.

I also tried using the Display Driver Uninstaller from https://forums.geforce.com/default/topi ... 08-10-14-/ and reinstalled drivers. So far everything seems to work.

I really hope Nvidia fixes this quickly as the refresh rate button is a nice way to quickly switch between ULMB and no-ULMB (as it's not available at 144 Hz).

Noone tested this monitor in LA Noire, NFS Rivals or any other game limited to 30 fps Does G-Sync work in such games? I guess even if it does, it is still impossible to use it with ShadowPlay because ShadowPlay has small 2-3% performance hit that will drop the framerate below 30 fps.

I haven't tried these.
On the other hand, I don't consider games locked at 30fps worth playing.

I think you are a little bit confused. If a game is locked at 30 fps, having a g-sync enabled monitor will have no effect (g-sync benefits variable FPS).

Also, Shadowplay has a small 2-3% 'GPU' performance hit... NOT FPS performance hit, if your gpu is capable of pushing 60 fps then you wont see your game drop below 30 fps with shadowplay enabled - even if the game is locked at those frame rates.

I cannot wait for Chiefs review.

All the reviews are killing me. I just want this monitor! I even bought a 780Ti to help my fps at 1440p.

well I have the monitor on my desk right now. All I can tell you is that 1440p 144Hz is really nice.
