I have a 2720Z and I really don't want to toss another $400 on a smaller screen if the Blur reduction 2.0 doesn't have accelerated scanout.

(I actually tried using my VG248QE again, and not only did the lightboost destroying the contrast get to me harder than the lack of ghosting, but oh god...did the colors take a nose dive, too. And going back to a 24" hurt my immersion ....Then I appreciated having a 27" screen to fall back to...

I'd avoid the 2430T... I just sent mine back.

Google a bit, there's a few posts about the bad image quality on that monitor. I don't know what they've changed but it's nothing like the 2420T or the 2420Z - the icc colour profiles for these monitors don't look good at all on the 2430T.

Did you do a color reset?
And a reset all and lower contrast to 50?
Because this panel is the same panel as the 2420Z, 2411T/Z, 2420TE and the VG248Qe....

I must say I haven't noticed any difference in the "quality" of color representation between those two models. They both have pretty bad colors on default settings; for general desktop usage you need to tweak it a lot to get a decent picture. I still can't achieve proper black on my 2420Z; 30T felt even slightly better in the representation of black. (I'm using 120Hz-blur-on settings from pcmonitors.info)

There's a second service menu on the Z monitors, where you can adjust the color gains and the offsets (the numbers don't seem to update, though, but they do change)--I only changed the USER values (which didn't update on the strange blue osd), and I have no idea what gain and offset do, but feel free to try it. there's also a reset on there.

And I have no idea what "Online gamma" means, but holding down buttons 3 and 4 (enter+menu) while pressing the power button on and then releasing the 2 buttons when the LED's flash, lets the "exit" (last) button enter the secondary service menu. The main service menu (with the strobe and logo and HPD settings) is holding down menu only, while pressing the power button.

"You might want to turn on Instant Mode as well to reduce input lag"

Then later

"As for input lag, we've gone up to 16 ms from the 10 ms of the XL2420Z. In reality, though, the difference is negligible; the results are still some of the best we've seen and should be enough to satisfy even the most demanding gamer."

Are the only mentions of input lag I can find.

Not helpful, did they mean 16ms on the 30T if AMA is off, but 10ms if its on, or that the 30T always has 6ms more than the 20T ?

And I can't find any other xl2430T reviews good enough to mention input lag tests still, let alone do a good job of testing it :/

That review is just poor.
There's NO difference in input lag between the 2420Z and 2430T. it's the exact same panel. AMA hasn't changed. Blur reduction hasn't changed, except the strobe phase no longer defaults to 0, and you can adjust it in the OSD instead of the service menu (or the blur reduction windows utility for 002/003 firmware). And input lag definitely has not changed.

They were probably NOT using instant mode, as you said, and were complaining that there was 10ms or 16ms of input lag...
instant mode is on by default, anyway, so no idea why they had it off.

Input lag mainly depends on scaler/firmware imo. I like how BenQ works in that way: they disabled resizing options (Full, Aspect, 17" (4:3), 19" (4:3)...) when monitor operates on 144Hz in Z models.

I had to return the XL2430T, because the contrast, color and brightness was horrible.

I do not spend my life to only play games, so, I also do office, surfing, software development... and, the picture is too violent and really hideous, even with brightness to 0 !

The games are also too bright and washed out (if you use rts/fps mode, you must bring your sunglass!) ... Otherwise, I must admit that the animations are very clear: with my old 60hz I can clearly see the difference on Diablo 3, for example: with the 60hz, the picture is very fuzzy / blurred, instead on the 144hz is clear, smooth and precise!

Too bad for the polyvalent use... I don't think they actually exist such 144hz monitor except the super expensive Eizio with VA panel.
