Do you have any ICC profiles? I am asking Bijan basically on daily basis to provide ICC profile since he has spyder and can calibrate probably better than I can. Even using ICC profile of other person's monitor can be a better solution than no ICC profiles at all.

@Chief or any other admin, if you see this, feel free to move the posts about XL2546K to its thread. We kinda went off the subject but...oh well, it happens

I'm using Benq's icm profile in the XL2546K driver zip but it doesn't fix the red shades issue, RTings just released 3 review on early access in the span of 3 days and they already purchased the Benq, technically they should review it in 2/3 weeks, I'll wait for their icm profile.

Hey all just posting here incase anyone is pondering what I'm pondering... pinky.

So I thought I was getting a 2546 from someone on offerup but they ended up sending me a 2540. I also got a vg259qm and played with them side by side and am going to keep the vg259qm over the older 2540.

Not sure how it pairs up with the 2546 or the 2546k, but just wanted to share as I did not find many comparisons/outright statements of preference when I was looking.

I tried both the VG259QM and the XL2546K, there is absolutely no difference in input lag (Maybe the Asus is slightly more responsive than the Benq at 280hz).

The difference in motion clarity is IMO noticeable, if I had to rate the Benq as 10/10 in this regard the Asus is probably 7.5/10.

Color accuracy is better on the Asus, I'm still waiting for a good icc profile on the Benq since all shades of red/pink/magenta are miles away from the target even if you use the icm profile in the XL2546k drivers (I'll probably wait for RTings review to try a decent profile).

VRR is surprisingly great on the Benq, much better than on the Asus which is known for having a bad Adaptive Sync implementation, other 240hz IPS perform better on this regard.

The OSD on the Benq has much more customization and Dyac+ is superior to ELMB-Sync in terms of brightness, motion clarity and crosstalk.

The Benq comes at a higher price, other 240hz TN can probably perform at a similar level in terms of motion clarity at a lower price but if you want to use the best strobing mode then it's 100% worth the premium price, recoil control is so easy with Dyac+ and even games like Overwatch benefit from it due to the fast paced nature of the game, it helps processing every piece of information.

So, when it comes to motion clarity, FastIPS still cannot outperform TN..?

Yes, TN is still better, FastIPS is something inbetween old 240hz TNs and new TNs, so not bad at all but it doesn't beat newer TN panels.

based off my results. the lenovo legion y25-25 earned me close to $20,000 in under 3 weeks. it also helped me buy my second nvidia rtx 3090 fe. i'm swimming in cash during the pandemic

motion clarity is dictated by refresh rate(MPRT), NOT response time. the vg259qm is a 280hz monitor, by default, its 15% less blurrier than benq a 240hz monitor.

the only time response time will matter when it comes to motion clarity is if the g2g average is vastly slower than the required response time to keep up with the refresh rate. so if 240hz monitor has a 4.17ms g2g or better, at that point response time is inconsequential when it comes to any form of motion clarity.(based off my in practice tests)

A bit of an oversimplification since subrefresh GtG is still human visible thanks to the Vicious Cycle Effect (higher Hz + higher resolution = ever smaller imperfections easier to detect)

I can still see ghosting even in GtG that is only three-quarters a refresh cycle.
Remember that at 4000 pixels/sec on a 240Hz monitor, is 16 to 17 pixels of motion blur. (4000/240) = 16.6666666667

But bad GtG overshoot lasting 1/4th a refresh cycle means that a quarter of that 16 pixels of motion blur will have a corona (4 pixels of corona) -- and that is human visible. So sub-refresh GtG imperfections become human visible!

Likewise, if GtG is a bit slow/ghosty despite GtG100% less than a refresh cycle, it can still be less clear than 0ms GtG.

Diminishing points of returns apply here, but generally it is recommended that majority of GtG (preferably GtG99%) be a tiny fraction of a refresh cycle.
