A new very good article about this issue on pcmonitors:
http://pcmonitors.info/articles/correct ... d-amd-gpus
Despite their issues seeming to be isolated to the 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) resolution at present rather than any resolution, Nvidia GPUs are worse offenders for users with affected monitors. They use a ‘Limited Range RGB (16-235)’ colour signal that completely destroys the image quality of the monitor by hampering contrast, colour vibrancy and shade variety. Unlike on AMD GPUs you can’t simply enable the correct ‘Full Range RGB (0-255)’ colour signal universally with a simple drop-down option, either. To add insult to injury a minority of monitors act this way over DisplayPort as well, despite that being a PC only connection where the GPU treating the monitor as a TV simply doesn’t make sense.
We also have some vain hope that members of Nvidia and AMD’s graphics driver development team will read this article and actually act on this. It’s an important issue to raise awareness of amongst both users and ‘Red and Green team’ officials. And even if things aren’t changed driver-side this article will at least provide some solutions for the poor users facing these pesky issues.

@IwantGSYNC, so RGB in Nvidia Panel actually means 'Limited Range RGB 16-235' ? I can use 2 more signal types, YCbCr422 and YCbCr444, and from the link you posted, it looks like the best and quickest solution to get a full range signal is to choose YCbCr444.

I'm sorry, just to be clear, is this a problem for all gsync monitors or just some?
More specifically, is my modded Asus vg248qe experiencing this, for sure?

According to the link above, "a minority of monitors act this way over DisplayPort as well". That's all I could find. It seems to me that all the tech sites simply do not know about this issue.
Also, it looks like my PM to Nvidia guy is stuck in the Outbox folder:
http://i.imgur.com/awNKyRK.png . Is it a bug? Maybe someone else will send a PM to Nvidia guy in order to pay his attention to this thread? Here is his profile:

It means he didn't read it yet. PMs only go from "outbox" to "sent" when the recipient reads them.

His signature: "Please send me a PM if I fail to keep up on replying in any specific thread"
I think it is now clear Nvidia's policy is to ignore this issue at all costs, we will never get any comment from any Nvidia employee. It looks like the only way to solve this problem is to write to all major sites like overclockers, anandtech, thg, eurogamer, etc. If they write an article about this issue and start mentioning it in every GPU review, maybe then Nvidia will start doing something.

I was at the Nvidia GAME24 event this past Thursday night and spoke with someone named Greg who works for Nvidia. When I showed him this thread, he said he knew Manuel, and would get back to me with an answer soon. Greg, if you're reading this, thank you for looking into this.

Wow, that is awesome news! Thank you very much for visiting GAME24 and talking with Greg!

As far as I understand,
Manuel_G read my PM:

Also, we have a unique ability to ask Tom Petersen, Director of Technical Marketing at Nvidia, about this problem! All you have to do is to leave your question in comments here, it looks like no registration is required:
