I think that i read most of the stuff here and didn't see this, so i will share it with you now.
So i overclocked my XL2411 from 144-> 200hz using DVI, made custom resolution just for playing CS:GO (im using 144hz on desktop) and i found out few interesting things. I'm using anti-OOR software. So if you are playing csgo, and using 3rd party software like vibranceGUI or medal.tv (recording game clips) - monitor can do strange things - be careful! So time to time when I using vibranceGUI or medal.tv after i launched CSGO i thought that monitor got off, but actually there was no backlight. In this situation I used my phone flashlight to lightup pixels so i could see the cursor and then i quit csgo and switched in nvidia control panel back to full hd 144 (it was faster than disconnecting dvi and switching to 2nd monitor). Right now I'm not using medal.tv or vibrancegui just because of this problem. For boosting vibrance im using nvidia filter.

There is one way of medal.tv or VGUI to work, but I'm not recommending it, because sometimes the monitor goes black. I don't know if it can damage the monitor or something. You have to launch CS:GO first, then minimize it and open medal.tv or VGUI. After going fullscreen again DO NOT minimize the game, because the problem could occur. If it does switch to 2nd monitor or lightup the screen with something, to change resolution.

I'm using vibranceGUI and it has never affected anything for me. Never used medal.tv though.

Hi everyone, I have the zowie xl2411p. Max overclock i can do (amd) is 144hz - 150hz before it going out of range. Max i can set a custom resolution on amd is 159hz.

The main problem is with the SoftMCSS software. Whenever I download it, it works and is open for 5 mins, but after 5 minuites both monitors start flashing black then eventuallty they get forcably cloned. I have to uninstall it or i cant use my computer. Also when it starts flashing i cant open the software. Please could someone help me with this!

Could someone propose a fix for the software / give me another method to defeat out of range!

SoftMCSS is the worst method of doing it. Check out software provided by hleV - https://github.com/hleVqq/AntiOutOfRange/tree/OorFixer
You don't have to use two screens - just run OORFixer and then change resolution.

I'm using 1280x961 custom resolution for csgo - 960 didn't work. Also i noticed, when I'm minimizing the game without VGUI or Medal it's reacting very fast, but if I have them open minimizing is slow and laggy - also after every minimize there is OOR popup when going back to the game. After this backlight problem there is always popup from VGUI saying "Bad display mode" and i have to close it. I have 200hz when I'm checking it by using mat_info command.

I'm sorry - i was wrong!

I did further testing and found out that VGUI or Medal have nothing to do with it (kind of). So this is a list of software/hardware/settings that I'm using:

• Benq XL2411Z 200hz

• 1280x961 CRU

• Strobe utility

This thing happen more often with VGUI or Medal.tv ON. So when i open CS:GO time to time there is black screen and only monitor backlight can be seen. When I'm minimizing the game OOR appears and Fixer does not work in this case. To fix it i need to switch to 2nd monitor, and highlight OORFixer in the folder, then switch back to Benq and press enter. OOR is gone, but the screen have no backlight. Changing resolution back to 1920x1080 - 144hz fix this problem. Worth mentioning is that when the screen goes black when launching csgo, and i switch to 2nd monitor there is also black screen with only backlight, but when i minimize the game everything is normal (after minimize and switching back to benq there is no backlight). Let me know if someone know what's going on.

I don't think OORFixer is designed for custom resolutions -- but the OORFixer author could confirm?

OOR Buster (make sure you get V1.4) has Alt + Home hotkey to fix ORR.
