Via the service menu. Turn off your BENQ. Hold MENU (cover that touch sensor) while TAPPING the power button. Wait 2 seconds and you should see the BENQ power up. Tap MENU again and you'll see the blue service menu showing firmware date.

Apparently -- I just found out that the picture on many shipping fixed monitors are indistinguishable from the non-fixed monitors. They left the strobe timing unmodified BUT the strobe timing is now adjustable (by external utility), and this is where Blur Busters Strobe Utility. So you MIGHT already have a fixed monitor. We're working hard to release this utility ASAP as a solution to all of you BENQ owners, to try and be able to adjust the strobe timing without needing to return the monitor. However, it will not work on the first units shipped -- those still need a firmware upgrade.
Does that mean, the firmware with the "Rev: 00-120-BA" - december 2013 would have worked just fine and I sent my monitor back for no reason? Wow, that's what you call bad exchange of information. Looks like the user just got squeezed between the sides.

Plz can you confirm me an information, then Im going to buy my monitor :)

The Firmware Im going to buy has the dez2013 firmware. So thisone is fixed and the Blurbusters utilitys work with it, so I can use different Styles of Blur-reduction right ?

And:

You first told us, that you work together with Ben-Q and that they perhaps going to add some new options in menu, based on your suggestions (like Strobe-timings).... is this already included in the dez2013 Firmware ? If not can we expect a even newer Firmware in March or April with that new menus ?

So if I have clarity about those both questions Im going to buy the Monitor I waited so long for :)

I can Link the Discussion I started, but it is in German ------------>http://www.notebooksbilliger.de/forum/T ... re/Seite/1

I already posted a link to both relevant Blurbusters topics there, but Im going to post your new solution now.

And if I have the answer from you I also going to post which firmware is good. Also I tell the admins there how they could look in the servicemenu for the firmwareversion. So like the poster before me asked it should be Rev: 00-120-BA right ?

greetz from germany

Is there no way to get that utility before the 12th? My monitor (BenQ XL2411Z) is being delivered tomorrow and I'd love to test the motion blur reduction properly

You and me both. I'm not happy about the way BENQ handled this. They were never clear to me that they didn't re-calibrate the strobe phase setting.

Also, only if it has a firmware dated mid-December or later. Factory manufacture dates do not correspond to firmware dates (e.g. December manufactures often have November firmwares).

You may want to wait for the beta test. Unfortunately, BENQ did not yet answer my question (which I asked 2 times) as to which firmwares date numbers/version numbers supports it.

No menu options.
The firmware only adds the ability to be adjustable via an external utility.

I'm far more pleased with the XL2720Z now, but I'm not happy with the way things turned out so far.

It would have helped greatly if BenQ had an official rep doing some forum work. For example Asus has a rep in overclock.net
And there is a rep of Nvidia in this very forum.

There's also an ASUS rep here too (ASUSTECHMKT), but he has not yet started posting.

We'd love to have an BENQ rep sign up here eventually, but we'll definitely want to make sure BENQ clarifies their message about BENQ Blur Reduction first, and what will happen to existing users & future purchasers. Eventually, I do want to be able to post a "safe" link to XL2XXXZ series monitors that guarantees a monitor compatible with the Blur Busters Strobe Utility.
