I can assure you my eyes can see this aberration with blur reduction on. I'm just sceptical as to this new firmware and why Benq has not officially confirmed it or the new firmware. Moreover, if there is a new firmware will Benq here in Australia get it (at this stage they are denying everything) and if they do how do we get it?? Benq are saying nothing buddy!!

Chief, I would love your utility, but at this stage it looks like myself and many others are going to be stuck with it.

You and me both. I'm not happy about the way BENQ handled this. They were never clear to me that they didn't re-calibrate the strobe phase setting.

Also, only if it has a firmware dated mid-December or later. Factory manufacture dates do not correspond to firmware dates (e.g. December manufactures often have November firmwares).

Jo Chief!

I just want your speculation about this:

Im now in a waiting-state, because there is a possibility, that the bug also is grounded an a hardwareissue and the fix is "only" a workaround/we could have better results if the hardwareissue is fixed.

Perhaps in one month we have a new Hardwarerevision, or other things patched.

What do you think about this speculation ? Im just asking because I want to prevent buying it now and one month later they have new revision. Im willing to wait one month.

UPDATE:

For those anticipating the release of the Blur Busters Strobe Utility:

(1) I am still waiting for the code signing certificate, as I registered for a Windows Authenticode code signing certificate, since it authenticates my executable as a safe download. This may take one-to-two more weeks, so the first public beta release will be an unsigned download at first.

(2) I am currently undergoing a decision-making process about whether or not to hold back the public release Blur Busters Strobe Utility (after my original March 12 date) until the forthcoming announcement. Meanwhile, if you send a PM, I will respond within one-to-two days with a link for you to try out on your Z-Series.

I am allowed to say:
"An update is forthcoming so please stay tuned for regional news on each of the BenQ sites."
I can't say further specifics at this time yet.

Hi, proud new owner of 2720z and I'm having some issues.

I won't pretend to be technical here, this is all new to me.

That being said, I was trying to run the toastyx utility to enable lightboost, and all that happens on startup is the strobelight beta 4 runs (4k+ passes) and then my monitor shuts off, and i have to hard reset my computer.

Should I not be using this to enable lightboost?

I know there is a bug in the firmware with a fix coming soon, but I can't even find n00b instructions.

I imagined it would be something like this:

Install toastyx exe
Copy strobelight to startup
restart
set up lightboost profiles
bam!

Sorry for the rambling and probably crappy formatting here, I'm just lost and frustrated.

Thanks in advance.

Z-Series is not compatible with Strobelight. The list of monitors that supports Strobelight is listed both here (blurbusters) and here (monitortests) -- essentially the same list.

However, you can use Blur Busters Strobe Utility instead. Keep tuned.

Thanks for the clarification, I guess I misunderstood the function of the Blur Busters Strobe Utility.

I guess I'll just need to wait for the utility, of course, I'm a new user here, so I can't PM, but would be interested in using it on my new monitor.

Thanks again!
