Hey guys. Is it possible to achieve 600hz on lower res like 1280x960 with DSC off on this monitor? Seems like HDMI 2.1 should support it, but I want to make sure before purchase. I appreciate any information regarding this, thank you in advance.

Hey fellas, I have some more quries regarding this 600hz zowie.
Firstly, did anyone here find out if using hdmi 2.1 vs dp 1.4 add input lag? I usually find or hear that dp is usually the fastest for input response.
Secondly, since I only play pubg and @ 1728x1080, and I will usually only be able to stay in the fps range of 350-500 fps for this game, should I change the monitors EDID to 500hz instead of 600hz? Will that serve better for input lag, or should I keep the EDID at 600hz?
if u have 500hz edid turn on, on monitor DSC turns off and u can use 4k resolution input lag falls very down. IF u want to use 600hz use HDMi 2.1 have better response but colors are not the same. DP 1.4 is old technology for older gpus.. 2.1 is for latest.. 2.1 have lower input lag vs dp 1.4... dp 1.4 use x4 more dsc than hdmi 2.1 at same hz.. dp 1.4 max bandwith usage almost 26gb while hdmi 2.1 use 32.
HDMi 2.1 is latest technology use that.. not dp 1.4 dp 1.4 is for older gpu and takes times to alt tab..if u want dsc off use EDID 500hz and u can go for 4k resolution...2.1hmdi is faster in input lag simple because it has more bandwidth. If u got asus 540hz is much slower when u change to desktop and back to game.. same is with oled, Using Dp1.4 have better colors vs hdmi. HDMI 2.1 have better input lag. And never use any software that void warranty any custom resolution ur warranty is dead. Read manual in BENQ zowie... yes i had oled and still have oled TV.. OLED is good for 1 hour of games than i get eyestrain it flickers, more hz u have more eyestrain u get.. in benq zowie i can last 6 hours before i get tired. TN panel more hz u have less eyestrain u have.
What about XL2411K? HDMI 2.0 is better than DP 1.2 on XL2411K in terms of input lag and response time?

Has anyone done a custom CRU resolution at 600hz without DSC and not using "Exact reduced" timings? If so, can you screenshot what worked for you?

Just wondering, why not to use exact reduced timing?
I have managed to remove dsc by using edid 500hz and hdmi 2.1.

But going from 600hz 500hz was worth it? Specially the native display input lag at 600hz versus 500hz. Tried that on mine and the differene in CS2 is huge, the input lag penalty is not worth disabling dsc.

Yea i am back at 600hz 1080p for pubg.
So what is the best setup for this monitor for least input lag etc?
Is it hdmi 2.1, 600hz?

Higher Hz can compensate for any DSC processing penalties of inefficient DSC implementations. DSC latency of poorly-implemented DSC varies a lot between models but perfect DSC is in theory perceptually lagless (e.g. less lag than 480Hz versus 500Hz).
But XL2586X's implementation of DSC is known to be low-lag.
The higher Hz reduces more lag than DSC adds lag. But obviously, YMMV.
So I'm not surprised 600Hz DSC probably has less lag than 500Hz non-DSC.

I contacted zowie support and they claimed in chat (and email from another team member) that 600hz runs over hmdi 2.1, but one of them seems to think it still uses dsc.
However, I got my monitor earlier today and connected it via hdmi and then enabled 600hz... I no longer have a few second pause when alt tabbing. Could it be that this monitor actually runs 600hz without dsc? Idk. I'm confused lol.
I just got the XL2586X+ today. So what I found out is both the HDMI 2.1 and DP 1.4 cable use DSC at 1080p @600hz.
However, by using CRU, I am able to get 600hz on the HDMI 2.1 cable without DSC. I also changed the EDID settings on the monitor to "500hz"
Here's the steps I followed below. At Step 12 you can put in 600hz.
With this change, I no longer have that 5 second black screen delay when alt-tabbing and the DSR Factors options are now available to me in the Nvidia Control Panel.

this does not seem to work for me, i did everything step by step but cannot figure out what im doing wrong. even with the cs 2 resolution set to the desktop resolution, i still get the alt tab bug and am not sure if DSC is even disabled

i have some problems fixed for you, but are you on RTX 50 series? and is your driver version is 591.xx?
with 50-series having DP 2.1 i think they fix the scaling after 40 series with DP 1.4a, what is weird for me i tried nvidia driver version above 591.xx all having weird issue that alt tab took longer than usual (non-native res) so i revert back to 581.xx the alt tab black screen is fixed somehow.

Pretty late response, but my experience with the xl2586x+. When trying the other users insightful custom 600hz non dsc profile in cru vs normal 600hz dsc (im on hdmi 2.1), there is noticable input lag in the normal mode. Custom profile is less smooth and feels erradic coming from the normal mode, but every movement and shot is instant on my monitor and feels very responsive. Text and rendering in the custom cru profile is also much sharper to me. everything looks like how its supposed to be, atleast compared to my 480 hz lg oled and the zowies normal state. it did feel "unhealthy" for the monitor though, and i also cant imagine benq ignoring this seemingly "free" performance of their monitors if it wasnt for good reason. So after a sad moment of hope i disabled the cru profile.
However, i played around a bit and after trying ycbcr422 at 8 bits and also disabling scaling and setting colours to reference in nvcpl, while also keeping the regedit tweak for the cru profile, i seem to be able to keep dsc off. All the scaling settings are there, and even if the colours ingame and just overall looks way worse, i maintain everything else and the game still feels input lag free compared to normal rgb mode. Basically dsc is a form of tuned version of ycbcr444 (even), so it makes sense staying on that will disable the driver dsc. Now, if this just is another form of doing dsc due to aforementioned, im still taking it due to only playing esport games and the input lag for me was that significant. Im on a 5080 so i have the latest hdmi b. ports if that maybe plays a role here, idk. all i know is im staying on this washed out 422. it feels safe for the monitors longevity, i get 600hz and dyac2, and i get basically what feels like 0ms input delay.
The game did look so nice when running that cru profile though...maybe its worth a gamble?
