Looks like the G-Sync version is coming out. In Q1 already?! I better save the boxes for my "Z's"

Well that's kind of annoying. Why are they releasing so many monitors back to back? Makes it a bit hard to decide what to do.

I imagine the gsync version will have a hefty price premium...

That's actually a pretty good point pnum. I've been waiting for this monitor for awhile, I think I might just go ahead and pull the trigger on it. It's a pretty damn big upgrade from what I'm using, and it will last me quite awhile.
Since I'm fairly new to all this fancy monitor stuff. Am I going to have a problem connecting my GTX 590 to this monitor and getting the best results? Right now I'm using an hdmi cord for my current monitor. I have to admit I don't know enough about these newer monitors to know if that will be enough.

Yep. Running the new firmware now. It’s a much better strobe backlight now.
I had to use an MSTAR ISP flashing unit, so you need a small piece of additional equipment to upgrade the firmware on your XL2720Z.
So this creates a problem. Something has to be shipped in order for the firmware upgrade to be accomplished (either the MSTAR unit inwards, or the whole monitor outwards).
And yes, it works. And there are some bonuses, including a now-adjustable strobe length!!! (my own recommendation to BENQ, which they followed).
Come discuss this on Blur Busters Forums, there’s an XL2720Z thread now.
Great news here guys! but we don't know how BENQ will manage these updates yet.

I just opened a ticket with BENQ...
I'll keep you in touch as soon I receive an answer.

If they are confused (they may not yet be aware of the new firmware yet), let me know who at BENQ you are talking to. I'll have my contact at BENQ get your department squared away. The warranty department probably isn't yet aware of the existence of the new firmware upgrade, as it's still in beta testing with the engineers.

My 3 monitors are due to arrive tomorrow. So, I may have to turn right around and ship them all back out? Is BenQ paying for all of the shipping? I can't believe this bug slipped past Quality Control and they're continuing to ship these out with knowledge of this HUGE problem.
Does BenQ have a shop in Indianapolis? I really don't want to have to ship these things out and wait all over again
