Re: Firmware upgrade using Linux tool, requires no hardware
Is it taking longer than it did the first time?
it takes around 10-15 minutes. I remember it seemed to take longer over VGA than it did over DVI (I used my radeon 290x dvi port since I have a 'legacy' bios (not UEFI) on my motherboard and it worked correctly twice in a row.
The XL2720Z v4 firmware has a hidden AMA low mode that the XL2420Z does not. If I had money I would buy another monitor and test if crossflashing would work, even if it complains about the EDID.

I have no idea what sysxxx is.
We use Ubuntu. If you follow the exact steps here, it will work.

Sorry I've never seen such an error.
Can you even get to the Ubuntu desktop and open a terminal?
I don't know how to use Linux. I only follow the instructions given by others step by step, and did repeated flashes (4 total) with those instructions.

Just use the steps at the bottom of page 23 over here, that I listed.

I haven't flashed since V5 was dumped for XL2720Z, but everything should still be working.
