I found my cable was creating lag randomly when I was trying a different cable and left PC unplugged from ethernet for around 10-15mins.
I spoke with a guy that used to install cables and stuff and he told me that s/ftp cables are not meant for indoors as they need to be high quality and also be grounded in order to do their job.
If they are not installed correctly and are not high quality, they end up acting as antennas and creating interference instead of blocking any.
So what you need to do is try to get a UTP cat6 24AWG.(no s/ftp!) If possible get a good brand one that is pure copper.
I bought a PANDUIT one for both PC's and for my modem/router connection.
Personally it has helped me and the lag is minimal for the past 3 days.
