I just received the VG259QM, I used it for about 30 minutes (I played Overwatch).
First of all, the panel is 10bit, but only in the 59-144hz range.
ELMB-Sync is actually quite good, the motion clarity is slightly improved compared to stock settings at 280hz(When you spray and your entire screen shakes you notice 0 blur).
I just installed an icm profile from Asus' site (file name ASUS_VG259QM_WHQL_Driver), it slightly improved the color quality.
I don't notice any overshoot at 80 OD 280hz, the improvement over 60 OD is noticeable.
Great ! No overshoot on 280hz

, have you noticed a big change between a 240hz and 280hz ?

You can notice some difference but it's not massive.
I made two videos at 720p 480fps, one with ELMB-Sync ON and one with ELMB-Sync OFF.

reread my reply. I wasn't talking about that photo, i was talking about a video i posted on youtube showing that from the crosstalk wasn't visible at all in practice from my point of view(and my camera's point of view)
brightness? ? a lot of workarounds. The app "controlmymonitor" is the one i use to increase the brightness if in case i use the MSI's BFI. That or nvidia control panel works too.
here's my personal anecdote.
MSI's BFI is pretty good, its crosstalk is among the lower end in aggressiveness relative to the monitors that i've used. Is it as good as the Viewsonic XG270 pureXP strobing? NO, but is it competent enough so that u can use it competitively? to me, it works well and i use it fairly often to break monotony or to enhance my gameplay experience with the MSI monitor. i never had issues. The "crosstalk" (which i did NOT see) didn't obstruct, distract, or hinder my performance when i played.
anyway, not going to address anything that isn't related to the initial thread content. But i just had to reply to this due to the misunderstanding of what i "said" relative to that image.
I know you were talking about the video, that's why I specifically said I captured a frame(the best one) that clearly showed crosstalk and blurring vs the xl2746S side by side. No amount of software adjustment can compensate for a dim backlight in BFI--xl2746s can hit 480 nits with BFI on while MSI drops to around 180.
Ok post the video for proof backing up what u said.. No excuses plz
Video ONLY, no slowdowns or cherry picked images. bcuz the point i was trying to make in tht video WAS NOT to argue if there's crosstalk, but to see if the "crosstalk" will hinder, obstruct, or cause so much distraction to the point where it's unusable. And to me, it was perfectly usable .

Yes, it's definitely above my XG2402 at 8bit in terms of color reproduction,I didn't try 10bit content yet.

The video for the xl2746S is in it's thread. You were in fact arguing that your MSI BFI looked as good as TN which is far from reality--a dim 180 nit IPS BFI can never ever match a 480 nit TN dyac solution. I'm not saying the MSI is bad, it's decent enough for most people but just not a replacement for dyac. Same thing goes for the Asus in this thread.
PS people play games fullscreen. I've yet to see a fullscreen crosstalk video of any of these IPS monitors.

Not sure if is a common thing but i have no problems watching anything, i can watch videos of any game but somehow that drasticaly changes if i play it (i know 2 games that i get instant motion sickness 100% guaranteed xD ).

10 years ago, more people didn't believe motion blur reduction modes could help LCD panels -- they were just all blurry....
I've been wondering for a lot of time: before the LED, what technology did LCDs use? May these "old" ones be better on the eyes? Maybe that is why they "didn't believe motion blur reduction modes could help"? Because they didn't actually need them? I keep seeing people having a hard time trying to find a new monitor to replace or improve an old one, while with the old with less features they have no eye strain and they can even tolerate the blur pretty well.
(not complete offtopic, but tell me if better to create another thread

Update on the VG259QM, if you have an Amd card you need to manually extend the Freesync range with CRU.
The stock range is 48-240, I wasn't understanding why the OSD fps counter was not fluctuating with lower fps when overclocked to 270/280hz while it was working properly at 240hz.
This is my first time strobing and I'm very impressed, increasing the ingame contrast and brightness get rids of the downsides of BFI, the crosshair in the OSD (the red and green dot) are actually usable and perfect for hitscans.
I honestly can't tell a difference in motion quality compared to my XG2402 (144hz TN), I didn't really test this monitor with strobing off since it's just too good with Elmb-Sync that I don't see the point of switching off unless I stop playing games.
So far I tried League of Legends (BFI is very good when moving around with the camera), R6S and Overwatch.
So far so good.
I can provide more tests, I can't use ufotest because I'm having stuttering with both Firefox and Chrome (I even tried uninstalling and re-installing the browser).
Edit: I tested color banding with both 280/240hz 8bit and 144hz 10bit, color banding completely disappear at 144hz, it's slightly more visibile at 240/280hz
It's finally dark so I tested for backlight bleeding and there's absolutely no backlight bleeding, I've never had an IPS before but I literally don't see any glowing/brigh part on the LCD when turned to black with max brightness (lucky panel?).
I noticed some eye strains/headache after using strobing for some consecutive hours, I tried lowering the brightness after taking a pause and it was much better for my eyes (I switched from brightness at 90 to 45 and lowered the ingame brightness)
