No FPS gaming possible

Separate area for niche lag issues including unexpected causes and/or electromagnetic interference (ECC = retransmits = lag). Interference (EMI, EMF) of all kinds (wired, wireless, external, internal, environment, bad component) can cause error-correction latencies like a bad modem connection. Troubleshooting may require university degree. Your lag issue is likely not EMI. Please read this before entering sub-forum.

There is no techical explanation as why would that even be true, so it's probably just a temporary placebo. How exactly can a network make your monitor looks washed out, 60hz or even less, choppy and slow windows animations, mouse dragging itself ascross desktop etc.? It just makes no sence, unless router is the one that is somehow injecting some kind of EM directly into the mobo and CPU rails, depending on network load.

My system immediately becomes unresponsive (desynced) when I execute these two commands.
Kudos to you, it stayed pretty smooth the morning after i put both those commands in (it should be very laggy right now), for the record i have them both disabled like what you posted. With this issue we must all be sharing a commonality in network settings or something, either way i think youre on the right track
Nevermind, those commands stopped doing anything after 3 days. Network isnt the issue

Further observations:

1.) When things are really bad, restarting the PC often helps.

2.)

bcdedit /set useplatformtick yes
bcdedit /set tscsyncpolicy Enhanced

- I have enough time to react to enemies.
- Good hit registration.
- The game feels terrible (like it's stuttering).

3.)

I suspect a local desync on my computer.

Why?

I can get my computer into a state with incorrect settings where everyone would say there's an internet problem, even though it's my local settings.

This desync problem feels like an internet problem, but it isn't.

I switched from DOCSIS to VDSL and have the same problem. In a few months, I'll get FTTH, and the problem will remain.

My guess is that it's related to timers like TSC, HPET, etc. Something is wrong with them on my system.

4.)

When I restart my PC, my games usually run very well. I leave my PC running constantly (24/7). During this idle period, something happens that causes terrible desync issues.

A restart usually fixes it.

FTTH 5000/2500 MBit

The same crap in Battlefield 6.

I have the same problem as you; sometimes it seems like everything is fine, but often it becomes very out of sync.

Howdy!

I’m based in the Southwestern part of the US and have pretty much the same desync/silent extrapolation (happens from packet loss. The server then has to guess your position based on your last known location, and it usually projects a version of your character out ahead of you to the rest of the server. This is why people see you first when you peek, and you haven’t even peeked yet on your screen. It’s silent, because there are no network indicators that anything is wrong) issues that you are experiencing. I’ve had 6 ISP’s (Fiber, Cable, 3 5G’s, and Starlink), 3 PC builds, and 2 PS5’s. I’ve tried everything you have, and some tweaks would work temporarily, and then the desync/silent extrapolation would always creep back in. Swapping ISP’s, or NIC resets were usually the tweaks that temporarily worked. When I say temporary, I mean less than 2-3 matches in any game. I have thoroughly exhausted ChatGPT/Grok on what this issue could be, and have thrown thousands of dollars and 100’s of hours into this issue. None of it has ever worked permanently.

As of last week, I took my PS5 over to my parents house which is 7 miles away. They have 300/30 Cable (from the same company I did) and sure as shit, BO7 and BF6 played flawlessly for about 3 hours straight. Enough time for me to relax, and stop constantly looking for the issue to present itself and was actually able to have fun.

If it were hardware or ISP related, one of many setups I tried would have resolved the issue, but that has not been the case. The only thing I can think of is that something is wrong with the electrical in my house. I ordered an Eaton Double Converter UPS that will be here Sunday from Amazon. Worst case scenario, it changes nothing and I return it. Best case scenario, it fixes the issue and then I call an electrician.

I’ll update when the time comes. For now, I’m happy to answer any questions…
