Basically you are saying you are delusional the fix is placebo. Finally i can enjoy the game after 200 windows installs used every tweaks out there. I didnt change anything on my pc(9800x3d,4080 super,6kcl30 rams) only used this config and its night and day difference. If you think something suddenly got fixed in my house you are the delusional one. Just leave us alone let us be happy while we fixed our issues.
Cool, so after nearly 3 years and 100 posts, you can now delete your account because there is nothing for you here anymore since you found your "fix"...se you in 2-3 days when this magical "fix" won't work anymore...time to change something else in cmd, or bios, or regedit, or download more suspicious files - but keep ignoring the
actual culprit, which is network routing or/and electricity.
You do realise that if this would be a Windows problem, then 100 million people would have those problems and not just a few of us, right?
Why's this guy taking it so personal that people are trying to fix their input lag. And he makes the assumption that 100 million people would care enough or be competent enough to notice it. Windows 11 has a real issue with input latency. I use ISLC to fix it. And it's night and day when it's running and not running while gaming. Every person's setup is unique so a fix for 1 person may not work for another.

ISLC is pretty much useless unless you play something like Rust or I don't even remember which games had memory leaks. Tarkov has an ingame option but regardless, even changing timer resolition is bad practice.
There are electricity related issues, BIOS, OS, games. All of them are worth optimizing. And those who say that tweaking can only bring microseconds or milliseconds of improvement and hardware is the only important thing to look at are just riding on numbers and trying to cope with what they consider to be facts. People's dissatisfaction with their computers remain despite following "correct" optimization advice.

Exactly, ISLC is a full placebo bullshit lol, unless you have Windows 7 and only 8GB of ram it won't help you in ANY way...standby list in RAM is NOT harmless in any way, and it will NOT cause lag in any way, this is literally how the OS is supposed to operate.

That is only the timer resolution changing. These days there's an all out war on the forums between topics but you can get good bits of information from about every user. The DPC Latency Checker program does nothing else than what Windows Media Player did back in the day when CS players discovered how to lower the timer resolution. And again it does not help. The game handles that and if you are running anything else to modify it, you're just making your PC do extra work for no real gain. If you experience something positive then it's likely related to the phenomenon of just changing settings. I'm not going to call it placebo because it's somewhat real. You change something but not necessarily for the better and the point still remains.
kyube is right about the testing methodologies being wrong regarding these programs. Also there is still some screenshot around here on the forums where I have 10 microseconds of kernel latency read in LatencyMon. Again it's not something to go by.

And you're wrong about CS, it lowers the timer resolution in windows 10 because it's not broken in windows 10. In windows 11, the timer operates differently. I don't think you understand what affects latency.
What it boils down to is whether or not your system is capable or getting to that lower timer, mine is with (DPC Latency Checker & ISLC). Then there's I/O overhead on the CPU. If you don't solve these 2 main issues, you won't see gains for anything you do. That's why it's such a struggle to find out what works because what causes the I/O overhead is an accumulative factor of what is causing it. Bad Drivers, Apps, Anti-Cheat operating at kernel level, over utilized USB ports, unused devices in Device Manager, EMI, bad USB devices that thrashes the controller I/O, core isolation, drive encryption, bad overclocking, bad memory. The list goes on. I solved all my I/O overhead problems, and I solved my kernel timer problem and i see gains. It's not small where it's like maybe it did maybe it didn't. It's a huge difference from when I was still figuring out to now.

I won't redownload that program but I can give you my guarantee that even without forcing timer resolution I tested between 0 and 1 microseconds in DPC Latency Checker just last week out of curiosity. The kernel latency still shows values related to the timer resolution because at times I got stable 1000 and 500 us readings. And even then I agree with others, this kind of latency is insignificant. And ISLC is just a resource hog because you can get the timer resolution low without the need of using that. But if this works for you and you play better, then why not. Just sharing what I found so far.

I think you're just delusional. I'm providing proof of it working. And providing proof that cs does not bring down the timer. from 15000us to 80us. Sure it's placebo.

Yeah the islc works for me too decently I won't say it makes me top frag every game but the game does feel better in terms of latency as compared to without it. I tried running islc along with latency mon running as well but that didn't make a difference .

latency mon just monitors, it doesn't do anything. DPC Latency Checker does do something to the system timer. ISLC & DPC Latency Checker combined running is what you want if you're on windows 11, windows 10 doesn't have this timer issue. Games will bring down the timer in windows 10.
DPC Latency Checker was an app made for audio engineers to monitor audio latency and it forces the system on lowest timer possible as well. It's an intended function.
