I tryed with this aswell, didn't work. I guess it is AMD drivers, r9 290x pixel clock or maybe some problems with this newest firmware. FeelsBadMan

it works fine with my 5700xt so I wouldn't say that it is a driver issue, have you tried installing Asus' driver for the VG259QM?

I just purchased this monitor a week ago and I definitely need some help.
I am running it with Adaptive Sync with my nVidia graphics. Otherwise, it is in default settings with he GameVisual set to RTS / RPG Mode. I like how this looks with my games, but when watching YouTube videos the compression artifacts are terrible on dark scenes. I attached a screenshot it and here is the music video I used as it has a ton of dark scenes (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSIk1QvIM2E).
Switching the GameVisual to Cinema Mode eliminates the compression artifacts, but I then find the darks too dark even with brightness cranked.
Any suggestions on how to solve the compression artifacts while maintaining the colors and brightness from the RTS / RPG mode? Or is the best thing to do is to switch modes when I watch YouTube videos?
I find it odd there is no "DEFAULT" GameVisual setting or a way to turn it off.
Running at 240hz by the way with HDR off and using the color profile provided by ASUS with the driver.
Thank you for your help. I really have never owned a good enough monitor to warrant calibration at this level.

Are you using the ROG GameVisual app to switch between the profiles -- or via the OSD?
Theoretically NVIDIA Control Panel or NVInspector might be able to automatically switch profiles on a per-app basis, but I'm not 100% sure of those apps have access to the profile-switching feature of this specific ROG monitor -- in order to automate it.

Use settings and ICC-profile from Rtings review and see how it goes.

I've never used stock RTS/RPG profile, as Racing mode delivers much better quality from the box imo.

I'm sorry Chief, but I think this monitor doesn't support ROG applications, because it's TUF Gaming series. (glad to be wrong though)

I am using the OSD to change profiles.
I just defaulted the OSD to factory settings and it goes back to Game Visual Racing Mode. The compression artifacts on the same video are not even noticeable now. I never used racing because I don't play racing games. I find that an odd setting to make your "default", but it definitely seems like a nice balance between RTS / RPG Mode and Cinema Mode.
Is anybody else get bad compression artifacts with default settings on RTS / RPG Mode? I assume it is just that mode as it can be fixed by switching to another profile.

Am I missing the settings and ICC-profile on that link? I scrolled it a few times and I only see the tests.
