Mouse driver problem -- I have found a way to solve it

I tried to figure out why the mouse became much more responsive after changing the polling rate or dpi to the same value, but I couldn't.
The only thing I understand is that this problem occurs on all versions of Windows and on Ubuntu (linux). I was unable to reproduce the problem on android 12 and snap 870.

Sems like hardware issue. Not OS.
you can check changes in regedit (after/before change) but im not sure you find some.
I have the same, when i hard-reset my mice (connect-disconnect sound), im feel better responce and speed.
Do you try disable / enable usb options (maybe some hidden) in bios?

I tried absolutely all the parameters in the BIOS via scewin. USB ecc, xhci hand off, xhci legacy, disabled 8 USBs and left only 2 ports. Actually, all power saving for the processor is turned off, c-state off, p-state cheapset off, p-state gpu off. Yes, this slightly reduced the latency, but did not remove the bug with dpi switching.
It seems to me that there are some hidden states of the motherboard usb controller and every time you switch the dpi the controller goes to d0.
At least I tested several motherboards: msi x99 sli plus, msi b450 gaming max, asus b550 gaming and this problem was observed everywhere. Different processors, different motherboards - the problem is the same.

What I mean is that for the first 20 minutes after starting the computer, my mouse is quite wobbly (as is the keyboard), in general the game feels like it runs at 0.75x speed. After 1-2 hours of playing, my mouse and keyboard become more responsive, as does the game itself. I see that the game itself is getting faster (1x). This can be achieved artificially - just switch the dpi about 20-30 times.
Yes, I know that the game's responsiveness increases due to the power supply. That is, the higher the load (consumption) on the power supply, the better it filters electricity. This is the law of any LC filter that is installed in the power supply of a computer, monitor, or router.

But I'm more interested in the dpi problem, which has nothing to do with electricity.

This depends on the insertion sequence of your USB devices. This is a probability problem and the registry cannot have any USB device entries left.

My lag is back.... The USB port queue sequence is a long-standing bug. You can only gamble every time you boot up. The HID item of the mouse in the device manager has a certain chance to change every time you boot up. If it changes, then everything you set up before will become invalid. The input lag is back. I am trying to find the boot with 0 input lag, make a Windows backup, and then restore the system every day when I come back to play games. This is the solution I can think of.

Because obviously the problem is not with the HID devices or the order in which they are connected.
The problem is with the USB drivers, we don't know what exactly happens to them after uninstalling them from the device manager.
Perhaps the priority of the drivers/usb is changing, perhaps the driver threads are switching to another kernel, perhaps a different USB performance state is enabled, perhaps there are changes in the Windows timer.
We don't know for sure.
We need a WPA tool and use it to track changes.

Main reason why I posted all of that is because it genuinely fixed my stupid input lag that made me suffer for such a long time and was even feeling depressed about it, considering what people made it out to be.

I suspect that Razer is the culprit of it really, because as I said, it began happening after I got their shitty peripherals, first a headset back in 2019 which was when I started feeling it and then the Razer Viper in 2021 which made it stay permanently, even after clean installations and plugging other mice, I was still using the headset though. And even if I didn't install Razer Synapse the input lag was still present.

It's probably not a widespread problem because it's very specific and it was probably different from what other people were experiencing in this forum even though to me it was too noticeable to even try to ignore it. But my point is that a lot of people in this forum shit on people that don't straight out talk about EMI, that or when someone speaks on how they fixed it in a specific way that wasn't electricity related.

I've checked many sites and topics from different forums the last few days because I pretty much gave up on the issue for like a month but then decided to keep trying to fix it somehow without having to "move out" as many people are suggesting in this forum.

These are links I believe helped me the most to fix it. Aside from that I also updated CPU drivers and used DISM command tool because why not. And again I don't know what fixed it exactly but that's all the stuff I've done and it magically went away and it was a giant fucking relief.

And no EMI admirers, it won't "come back".

Yes, I also found that the input lag is back, but I have another discovery, which is to change the USB port and use this method to significantly extend the duration. Because I only play games for four hours a day, this is enough.
