PC Gaming Wiki is a good source for game-specific information:Anonymous893125 wrote: ↑30 Oct 2022, 14:12a game im playing atm called amnesia rebirth the in game settings has no option to turn off the in game limiter it only has a couple pre sets 15,30,60 but no unlimited i want to use rtss for the stability rather than the in game one but if i do will the two clash ?
Anonymous893125 wrote: ↑30 Oct 2022, 15:56not just for this game but i mean in general what can i do if a game has no off option or unlimited but want to use rtss, i know that i can follow the steps on pc wiki to remove any cap but the menu still dont change if you get me
I've answered that already. If the in-game limiter can't be disabled and you want to override it, you need to set the external limit (be it RTSS or NVCP MFR) at least a few frames below the in-game limit to override it.Anonymous893125 wrote: ↑30 Oct 2022, 16:02like for instance on bf 5 i set my fps to 200 because there wasnt no unlimited option and wanted to use rtss for stability and set it to 90
I'm not quite clear on what you're getting at. Are you saying when you disable the in-game and RTSS limiter there's still an in-game limit in effect?Anonymous893125 wrote: ↑30 Oct 2022, 16:05for amnesia rebirth at the moment i have fps set to 60 in game (because there isnt any higher or unlimited) and rtss profile set to 60 and also i followed the steps and set it to false, but there is still that 60 cap in game im thinking about
yeah thats what i mean i could do that for amnesia but that would mean going below 60 which isnt ideal because it dont go any higher in the game menu has 15,30 and 60 only
yeah sorry man just how ive always typed its a habit lol, will make them 1 post in future my apologies.jorimt wrote: ↑30 Oct 2022, 16:58I've been meaning to ask, is there a reason you keep posting one question across multiple posts in a very short period of time, instead of including all the text in a single post? My guess is because you're probably used to posting on platforms like Discord, but not sure.
Regardless, to your questions...
If you mean the in-game "Framerate" option is still showing as "60" even after you disable it using the config file method, it's because the menu option won't usually change to reflect the config tweak you made, since "Off" or "False" or "Unlimited" isn't an official parameter, so they wouldn't have coded that entry in for the original in-game menu, hence it just shows what you last changed it to in-game before the config file tweak.Anonymous893125 wrote: ↑30 Oct 2022, 17:22yeah thats what i mean i could do that for amnesia but that would mean going below 60 which isnt ideal because it dont go any higher in the game menu has 15,30 and 60 only
No worries, it's simply an unorthodox way to post on an "old fashion" forum like this one, so was just wondering.Anonymous893125 wrote: ↑30 Oct 2022, 17:22yeah sorry man just how ive always typed its a habit lol, will make them 1 post in future my apologies.jorimt wrote: ↑30 Oct 2022, 16:58I've been meaning to ask, is there a reason you keep posting one question across multiple posts in a very short period of time, instead of including all the text in a single post?
