The built-in in-game limiter works in a different method.

You have some advice or clarifications, I liked the benq Xl2546 as a monitor, or the AW2518HF .. Maybe they do more for me .. I await your opinion, to fix my XG258Q (some firmware fixes?) Or else.
Thanks
not enough information. not see the whole picture of what is happening.

L3on1da wrote:I buyed 3 weeks ago the XG258Q, i tryed it for this week (my main game is Apex), my pc setting are this:
MSI Z170A GAMING M5
Vegeance LPX 3000 mhz 16 GB (8x2)
Be quiet Bronze 500/600 wat (i don't remember)
GPU 1660 Ti
CPU i5 6600 k 3.9 ghz
SSD samsung Evo 860 500 gb
Kraken Nzxt x62
Nzxt H400

After some try i founded some issue with the monitor:
When i setting on the Gsync compatibility, i can't feel any difference in smoothness, i just see a serious Overshoot problem and i can see anyway some tearing.
Without gsync comp, i see some tearing anyway, i tryed to lock fps to 120 and 240 but i can see the same shit (at 240 fps cap my cpu go around the 100 % usage, this is my hardware limit)
If i lock the frame in the game cfg the frametime of msi afterburn suck and I see the line full of peaks, if i lock the frame with rivatuner the frametime is pretty perfect, why this?

It seems to me you guys are having the bad effects of a floaty framerate. No monitor in this world will make a floaty fps experience smooth!. I prefer to have my fps capped at 120 instead of them floating around 200 to 300. Apex is very well known for this behaviour because the engine is not well optimized and it changes its performance all the time depending on the area. If you cap your fps to 120 with Gsync on the XG258Q you will have a very smooth experience.

I tryed this, but i didn't notice difference (with gsync or without it), and the with the overdrive at 3 (it's even worse with od 4 or 5) when i turn mouse left and right a dark zone become more dark and i see trails, I don't know if I can explain myself, and over this i see some tearing...

You see tearing with Gsync ON?? Did you enable the Gsync watermark in games to make sure the game is actually using Gsync? That´s really weird, maybe something is not work as it should

If you do not see the difference. Probably you do not understand exactly where to look.
And if this is true. I do not advise you to look for this difference.
vrr is like aspirin for a headache. this medicine. For those who have a headache and aspirin helps.

Imagine that your monitor has a broken pixel, but you yourself do not see it.
If we show you exactly where this broken pixel is.You will see it too. And then you will cling to this area with a look.
It will annoy you. Do you really want it?
