No news from BENQ yet... I think I will order the MSTAR ISP unit and doing the update by myself. Chief, do we need to open the monitor in order to update since I don't want to loose my warranty. Is this unit can be used for other thing other than updating monitor? And there is any way to make a loan on this piece of equipment since it will be used only one time. Otherwise, if someone on the forum want .. we could buy one for multiple users and split the expense..

Someone was asking about ICC profile, I recommend using the one made for the XL2420T present on TFT central . The color are relatively good! And last weekend I tried to run a game on my old monitor and seriously in would never go back! The lag input on 60hz monitor is very noticeable... I don't know if there is a bigger difference between going from 60 to 144hz with strobing or from 60hz to 144hz with gsync. Is there a very noticeable difference between 144hz strobing vs gsync? And for those who had the chance to try them, should we consider to buy a future upgrade kit ?

I called BenQ and they told me I need to go through the place I ordered the monitors from first (NCIX.) I submitted an RMA online on NCIX.com but noted that a replacement would do me no good if it had the same original problematic firmware.

Wouldn't ALL monitors at this point have the original buggy firmware?

Currently, they do.
I'm going to contact my contact at BENQ and see what they say for people like you.

Thanks, Chief :) This is my first dealing with BENQ. I'd really like to like them, lol

One other thing for triple monitor users. There are USB ports on the left side of the monitor that are in the way for overlapping the bezels. Kind of a bummer :?

There is one available on the rear.

Oh, I meant that the side USB ports make it to where you can't align the side monitor bezels behind the center monitor bezel on the left side since it protrudes so much.

Please keep this post updated on the results of your BenQ/NCIX tickets. I really want to get this firmware issue worked out but am unsure of the correct path atm.

I just confirmed the firmware is still in beta. So it's not out on the market, just yet.

However, if you don't want to wait, and you decide to buy the MSTAR ISP unit:
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free-Shi ... 79577.html
Then send me a PM. I'm sure I can convince BENQ to let me send you the beta firmware. That said, that Aliexpress estimate of 60 day shipping is quite slow. So you'd want to choose a faster shipping option.

Here is a temporary workaround to reduce BENQ strobe problem (I think)

Going to NVIDIA -> Create Custom Cesolution
-- Set Refresh Rate to "101Hz"
-- Change Timings from "Auto to Manual"
-- Set Vertical Total to "1350"
-- Click "Apply"
-- Switch to "101Hz"

This creates a large 270-line blanking interval between refreshes, which adds a good 2 millisecond delay betwen refreshes. This fits more of the 1ms-2ms pixel transition during the pause between refreshes. In this case, this actually greatly reduced strobe-backlight ghosting a lot, because more of the pixel transition fit inside the blanking interval. That pushes the strobe phasing to be more timed with the vertical blanking interval.

You can't do this at 120Hz because it's literally consuming the dotclock bandwidth of 1350p just to do 1080p, but you can do it at a lower refresh rate, such as 101Hz.
