News on the ROG Swift (PG278Q)

Talk about NVIDIA G-SYNC, a variable refresh rate (VRR) technology. G-SYNC eliminates stutters, tearing, and reduces input lag. List of G-SYNC Monitors.

I can't find a review in neither of those links. Just four pages that list the specs of the monitor. But no review anywhere.

Am I missing something?

You are :P

First link is a Youtube video. Second one is a written review. For the written review once you scroll past the specs list you got links to page 2, 3 and 4 and a navigation combobox thingy.

Spoiler: The review isn't very interesting though. Still waiting for Chief to get his hands on it and make a real review.

No, I saw that. I've looked at all 4 pages. Still no review.

Page 1: Specs.
Page 2: Unboxing.
Page 3: Short introduction to what G-Sync is.
Page 4: Conclusion (to what?)

Where is the review?

You are correct, Overclock3D did a pretty shoddy job of "reviewing" this product. I just read everything and it matches up to what you've written and the video itself doesn't do a good job in talking about this monitor. His way of explaining things is pretty dumbed down and is not as thorough, not something like you would see from Chief, Linus, HardwareCanuks, or Techtips. Plus remember Youtube still does 30 FPS for videos. They are experimenting with 60, but it's not open to the public as of yet. I would prefer them have a link in the description to where I can download the video to get it 60 FPS or higher. I'm still excited for this monitor.

Ya, there haven't been any actual reviews yet. Just a couple of "previews".

Finally sat down to watch the video, and he has VSync on... Which I've never done. I always keep VSync off, with limited frames if possible.

Yes, but most of these modern games take a hit on FPS when there is a lot of things being rendered onto the screen. So the point of G-Sync is when your FPS does drop, the module drops the refresh rate of the monitor to match your FPS so you don't get tearing. If you're playing any game from the past 2-3 years on maximum settings(Battlefield 3/4, Metro, Planet Side II, Tomb Raider), it's going to take a toll on your graphics card.
