So are you able to play above 100fps without experiencing slowness or ghosting in the image? Well this is my doubt, what is your monitor model? ...
The frame rate you are getting doesn't really matter for the acer predator xb273x because of variable overdrive. Based on my findings, The g2g response times are consistent along ALL of the refresh rate range. At 240hz, there's only 3-4 TN (aw2518hf, omen x25f, nitro xv252q, xn253q) that exist today that has a slightly better g2g response times based off my oscilloscope test results. , and we are talking UNDER 0.4ms. Not that matter because when it comes to the input lag i measured, it will kill those TN in a 1 vs 1 scenario. The only monitor that can stand a chance against the g sync 240hz 27" predator is the vg259qm/vg279qm only IF the framerate is above 240hz. I hope you can help me with this one, i have been using XL2720Z for the past years, and altough it served me well in regards of gaming, it was, and still is lackluster in colors, which is expected considering it is a TN panel.
I will sell this monitor to a friend and i need a substitute, i mainly play Warzone and sometimes League of legends,BF1,and cs go iam really competitive, but not to the point to spent plenty of hours daily training to achieve ranks, or go pro
The problem is simple, i cannot decide which monitor to buy altough iam inclined to these models:
->LG GL-27850B -> Contrast levels concern me(i play mostly at night), no blur reduction tecnology,
->ASUS VG27-AQ -> 165hz 1440p, ELMB,
->MAG251rx ->240hz, good motion clarity (but only at those refresh speeds?), the stand is horrid tough.
The only thing that really interest me on going for a 1080p monitor is the ability to maintain high framerates, pair that with ips tecnology, and achieve great motion clarity and great color reproduction. My concern is simple, MY 1080 ti +oced 8700k cannot obtain 240hz reliably on the game i play the most, (warzone), and i think it will hinder the performance to the point iam not sure if going for 144z 1440p is a better option( which i can reliably play at 100 to 150 fps).
The fps i get in warzone are between 125 and 170, and at these fps, is there any fast ips 240hz monitor which can be much better on motion handling than my XL2720Z @ 144HZ, or a 144hz 1440p nano ips?

You could... but expect a huge dip in g2g response times and input lag. However, there's less eye tracking involved. If you are in the market for a 24.5" monitor, the alienware or the msi are excellent choices. The vg259qm is alaso an excellent choice if you are playiing a game with FPS above 240hz.
when you say the VG259QM is excellent but only over 240hertz, is this without ELMB? Is the VG259QM still a decent monitor if you set it to 240@80 on games you dont get over 240fps on? regarding the 27" 1080p problem.
I studied this extensively on the physiology book i have. Based off those directions from the book and me cross referencing the size of the monitors. To match the optimal focal point, u would need to sit at least 38"-40" away from the monitor to have the same focal point as someone with a 24.5" monitor sitting at 24-26" away. But the advantage of 27" 1080p is that it's easier for precision purposes because everything is bigger. Which means easier head shots, easier shot on goal, larger targets, etc(even IF you sat further away).
I knew this when i started losing every single match i played. The response etimtes were good but i'm not reacting fast enough since my retina has to move a longer distanace. So i adjusted the distance, and i managed to pretty much win every match after that.
If you use Gsync/Freesync and your fps fluctuates sub 240hz you should stick to OD60 because OD80 becomes borderline usable sub 220hz due to overshoot.
Thanks, one more question have you tried the VG259QM with just ELMB with no adaptive sync? people have mentioned that its better than ELMB-SYNC for certain situations. If you play without a fixed refresh rate of 240hz with no Adaptive Sync, OD80 is usable with some minor overshoot (more than on the MAG251R), if you use ELMB-Sync at this refresh rate you eliminate a good % of corona artifact and you noticeably improve motion clarity.
OD80 is more suited for 280hz.
