Hey guys,
I'm new to owning a VG259QM. The last monitor I had was 144hz asus monitor. I was wondering if I should leave OC on and run 280hz all times? Will this lower the lifespan of my monitor or even damage it at all? Or should I just run at 240hz all the time? I'll be using this monitor mostly for gaming, so would be bit of a pain to switch back and forth. I'd rather just run a constant hz. That's why I'm wondering if I should just use this at 280hz all the time or if that will end up having negative effects, then should I just run at 240hz all the time??
Thanks!
I decided on going with 240hz, as I found maybe some increased lag when trying to run 280hz all the time. My PC in most games I play can get upwards of 280 fps, but in most cases is more around 240 fps.

Anyway, I will be returning this monitor. I've been using it for a week and it already has a dead pixel on the screen. Just ridiculous. ASUS's warranty states that the monitor needs 3-5 dead pixels for it to be fixed. Insane.
about lifespan. there are a lot of people that use this panel for years with OC+ overdrive 120 and there is no problem at all 100%. to be short OC won't damage the monitor.

about hz. i play mostly an old game (quake live with stable 250fps) and i can firmly assure you that any other option except 280hz provides huge input lag. this panel is a pure treasure only at 280hz

Crazy to think that I've had this monitor for more than 5 years and didn't know there was a dedicated page here lol
But this monitor is truly beyond good, I used to play with OD set to 80 but decided to try the OD120 secret option and haven't changed since, the difference is very noticeable and 280hz is a good step from 240hz (in games like counter-strike I do notice a difference in motion and frames).
It's been 5 years and I can see about 2 to 3 dead pixels, thankfully not in the center of the screen and right now I'll only buy a new monitor when I see a big difference from this one (looking at 500hz+ oled monitor with BFI or new Pulsar monitors).

If you have this monitor make sure to enable 120OD option, is a real gamechanger!
