Disappointed to hear about the wonky gamma. I'm not sure if I'm willing to spend $300 for poor color calibration. Was hoping for an in all one monitor with good gamut coverage and BFI.

does anyone know, when i use purexp extreme, does it add any additional input lag? Also, how come I cannot adjust response time settings on monitor when purexp is enabled?

After noticing this I switched the Viewsonic to 240 hz and played a few games. To my surprise 240 hz felt way worse, not as clear and it felt like there was increased input lag. This is the opposite of going to 240 on every other monitor I've used.

PureXP ON/OFF?

At 240Hz non-strobed, you may wish to try maximum overdrive or near-maximum overdrive.
On the XG2431 specifically, you need to use a stronger overdrive setting, the higher refresh rate you go.

Only insofar as the vertical latency gradient (same behavior as ELMB and DyAc), since not all pixels refresh at the same time in non-strobed mode -- in strobed mode, some pixels don't have any lag changes, while other pixels will have minor lag changes, as explained in some of the other threads (this affects all strobe backlight technologies). The XG2431 doesn't do any lag-increasing buffering for strobed modes (unlike some vendors such as NVIDIA ULMB).

Remember it's important to account for human latency -- e.g. the average half-refresh-cycle (2ms) increase of lag that a strobe technology adds to most 240Hz monitors (DyAc, ELMB, PureXP) can be more than overcome by the human reaction time decrease, depending on what type of gaming tactics that you do.

You can in Blur Busters Strobe Utility -- adjust response time via Overdrive Gain at www.blurbusters.com/xg2431

Does the XG2431 have any Gamma adjustments? I'm using it side-by-side with the BenQ XL2546K and I think it actually marginally beats it on motion blur reduction at a similar brightness level, but the colors are so dark (independent of brightness). If I could tick up the overall Gamma by 1 or 2 levels it would be perfect, but right now the shadows and dark colors are so dark it makes using it as an eSports monitor difficult. The BenQ has just as good of colors but it's just noticeably brighter without actually being backlit brighter (if that makes sense). Going on Normal or Light on the XG2431 makes the screen overall brighter (too bright) but doesn't actually fix the color issue.

why not adjust gamma in nvidia control panel?

So apparently you actually cannot adjust any of the settings via Nvidia control panel... perhaps something with the BB utility locks all of that out?

I'm able to adjust gamma and digital vibrance in nvidia control panel with xg2431

While PureXP is on? Because I cannot.

I believe they're referring to NVIDIA Control Panel's Gamma setting.
This works with PureXP.
Generic advice for gamma on all models of monitors:
Adjust Contrast/Brightness/RGB Gains/etc via monitor OSD instead (don't use NVCP), but where Gamma is missing from the monitor, adjust gamma via the NVIDIA Control Panel.

Although I was not the one who did the color calibration, the monitor is calibrated at a normal 2.2 gamma and looks good to many -- but some people want a brighter/darker gamma.

If anyone here has a colorimeter, I'd appreciate seeing forum members post installable color profiles (.icc files) of different gamma calibrations, so other forum members can have more satisfying gamma experience.

This will help make some common gammas more plug-and-play.

I've bought and brought this monitor to Kazakhstan, it did cost me around 440$ overall, but it was totally worth it.

No dead pixels, no hard backlight bleed. There's typical IPS glow, but it's not critical or even noticeable in normal use. Tho, it got better after I left screen on with full screen white wallpaper for night.

As for PureXP, for now I am using PureXP Light setting, will be tinkering around with custom settings in 4 days.

Calibrated monitor with i1Display Pro Plus using DisplayCal with following monitor settings:
Contrast, brightness = default.
Color temperature = User Color>Red 100, Green 99, Blue 100.
Color space = RGB
Color range = Full Range

these settings already good, if you don't need ICC profiles, but I've attached ICC profile too.

Thanks for the color profile. The monitor looks to have excellent srgb coverage, and the gamma is 2.2. I misspoke.

Ahh because I was duplicating the displays on both monitors I could only adjust the BenQ and not the XG2431... what a silly mistake... I'll run them extended and adjust and see if I find a setting with the XG2431 that works best. Although PureXP+ Normal, 80 contrast, and black stabilizer 60 looked pretty good.
