Soooo.. @speancer what would u recommend for me (u can check my thread:
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7409).
Already playing on 144hz, wqhd, 27' Acer Predator XB271HUa (TN version) and on 2700 faceit ELO I need upgrade.
MAG251RX will be best pick for me and for competitive gaming?
I don't think it's that easy to just recommend something to people and claim it's "the best" for them, everyone has different needs and tastes, and all monitors have their pros and cons. I suggest you also search for reviews online, watch tests on YouTube (Hardware Unboxed is a great YT channel, TFT Central and RTINGS are great review sites) read opinions, etc. To be honest, I am not yet certain myself which monitor I'd choose as my personal best. I still need to test ASUS TUF VG259QM, for example, perhaps I'm gonna get HP Omen X 25f as well (I think it's one of the fastest TN panels right now, 2.1 ms average GtG response time and very low input lag, too). Until then, I will remain undecided. I see no other option but to buy these monitors and try them out myself. It's also the matter of what you actually prefer, do you care about backlight strobing, do you care about ergonomics (MAG251RX has no swivel and no pivot), do you care about VRR?
I dont care about pivot, i will use monitor mount. Im just looking for monitor that will give me best experience in online games (GTA 5) and competitive CS:GO, Rocket League, Valorant. Competitive means really high level (if u playing cs:go - 10lvl faceit, 2700 elo).
Looking between MAG251RX, XL2540, Omen X 25f. It will be huge difference between XL2540 and MAG251RX in performance, ghosting, etc?
@EDIT
From monitors that u've tested - what would you recommend for me? (based on what I said).

I think that you may be inferring way to much importance on the minor differences between these top tier monitors. Especially as it relates to your skill level is CSGO. Simple will still wreck you with a 60hz Dell. My obnoxious point being that you're not going to see a massive, if any, improvement in your competitive game because of this monitor upgrade.

Wow, so much detailed information on these monitors. Had no idea how deep this rabbit hole goes.
Currently using the Alienware AW2521HF and I think its very nice. I especially like the OSD menu and how seamless the software is with the monitor itself.
Currently using a Core i9 12 core processor with GTX 2080Ti.
I only play Call of Duty Modern Warfare and the FPS usually hovers around 175 uncapped using this setup with my Alienware monitor.
I have the opportunity to get the ASUS VG259QM as its available at my local Microcenter... should I return the Alienware? Hope for the MSI instead?

I wouldn't return, try them both though. The Asus can do 280hz(if you can too) and has strobing(some love it some don't care for it in it's current state) and response times are pretty even.

You say this despite the fact that my FPS will never hit 240 or 280?

Greetings I have seen reviews for these 3 monitors: Asus vg279qm, ViewSonic XG270 and Benq Zowie XL2746s and I'm very torn between the 3. For best motion clarity I think the answer would be the Zowie as it Dyac tech is the best Strobing tech there seems to be out there and that is why I am considering it. However is it really worth it to pay $200 more dollars for it? Anyhow for the two that are IPS monitors (vg279qm and xg270) I have seen that the preferred one is the Asus in some aspects but I have seen others that preferred the ViewSonic as it's upgradable and apparently latest updates let you even use different Strobing flavors so it wouldn't dim your display brightness as much. I play CS GO, Valorant, Halo and Rouge Company mainly ( I do play other less competitive games but not as much). I just want someone that might have tried these 3 or had experiences recently with them so I can maybe make my mind and finally pull the trigger! Thanks and sorry for the long post.

Do you want your fps to hit that to take advantage of the lower input lag and less motion blur? lower your graphics settings a bit, there's no reason to not be well into the 200 fps with a 2080 ti.
If you don't want to then I'd still say try them both out, no reason to return a good monitor hoping the next one will be better, it might not be, compare them both then choose if possible.
But if you're playing around 180 fps, they might look the same, though the Alienware has better OD with variable refresh rate works great at 240hz on "fast" all the way down to 60hz on "fast", or if you are using adaptive sync it works well on the next setting up too. So it might be better bouncing around that fps than the Asus because you have to change the OD setting depending on your fps, but the Asus has ELMB-SYNC too so you might like that so it could be worth it over the Alienware to you.

Thanks for your detailed reply.
Truth be told, I did lower the graphics settings as much as I could so as to not be distracting. When you turn Anistrophic Filtering OFF, everything looks super jagged and really distracting. So AF is on 2x SFAA(?) and all other settings are set to low. The FPS jumps from 190 to 230 or so, so I'm happy with the results and it doesn't look too different from when I had Textures set to Ultra.
With that being said, I'm looking for the least amount of monitor lag as possible. I want my setup to be as closed to professional as possible. Looking into the MSI as well at the moment. Just trying to figure out whats best for my setup...
