Is it possible to control the ovedrive with this monitor when strobing?
Yes. It does for me anyways, not sure about others.
First of all thank you for your quick reply.

May I ask you a few questions? I see that you owned both a 240hz TN, 360hz IPS and now the XV25QF.

I was wondering how does the Acer compare to the X 25f and PG259QNR in terms of motion clarity and input lag, is 390hz vs 240hz perceivable?

What Overdrive do you use?

I also plan to upgrade my cpu/mobo in the near future (Maybe with AM5 or RocketLake) so I was also wondering if outputting 200-300fps will produce noticeable duplicate images (such as this https://blurbusters.com/wp-content/uplo ... icates.png when strobing or if 390hz is able to brute force motion clarity regardless of the fps I can output (I'm talking about 200+ all the time).

There's a 100euro discount for the XV252QF in my local Acer official store and I'm really tempted to give it a try, my VG259QM struggles at 280hz without ELMB ON and the lack of 360hz TN (AUO please produce it already  ) is making me lean towards this monitor.

There is 0.2ms variation between this monitor and the two other 360hz monitors tested, absolutely unusable

I just ordered the XV252QF, maybe I will make a video comparing 280hz strobing with 390hz strobing, I was a little bit worried because I saw a guy complaining about input lag early in this thread (which was debunked by this last finding + optimum tech and fr33thy results) and someone saying that it was a terrible monitor for Overwatch (I know an EU Contender player consistently top 50 that uses it as his main).

My issues with both the 2546K and VG259QM were that I either had to strobe with overshoot or there was no point in strobing at all, OD locked for the Asus and AMA Off on the Benq was suboptimal, AMA high and Premium were similar to OD80 with the Benq hiding overshoot slightly more due to the insanely long strobing window [ 83.3% vs ~70% on the Asus].

Can't wait to test it in Overwatch and Apex.

Awesome! Let us know how you end up liking the monitor. Would you not recommend the XL2546k for someone that already owns the Acer 390hz? I main PUBG right now and I never reach 390 fps in this game. I really wanted to try the Benq but idk if it’s a smart move for what it cost.

Hi all,

I'm actually the person that asked the question on rtings.com review about the input lag results. I currently own both the Alienware 360hz and the Acer 390hz monitor.

I was initially disappointed in seeing that the Acer scored 0.1ms higher than the Alienware 360hz and 0.2ms higher than the Asus 360hz. But after reading their response and using both the Alienware and Acer for the last 2 weeks - I can agree 0.1 - 0.2ms of input lag is honestly negligible (possibly even a margin of error), and I can't feel a difference between the two monitors I own. My performance is exactly the same on both monitors.

I will say, however, that the Acer 390hz is in fact clearer in terms of motion and response time and just looks better - at least on the 'Extreme' setting. The acer also has a great 'Super Sharpness' setting in the OSD that makes the image even clearer. The Acer 390hz is worth it over the Alienware 360hz for this alone IMO.
