ELMB creates a double image. Useless piece of crap.
Don't know why Asus even bothered implementing this if it doesn't work.

A lot of monitors are not optimized for anything different from their actual out of the box refresh rate. For example, most 144hz monitors are really bad at 60hz. Maybe this model is not as good at 120hz/144hz as it is at 165hz, just like 240hz monitors are really bad at lower refresh rates.
I decided to check this. The issue is not in the old graphics card, it's in the hdmi conection. That blue light trail over the cursor showed up. With DP works fine at lower hz.
When i connected again trough DP, that issue remained to my surprise! Then i noticed FreeSync was 'off' and as soon i turned it 'on' the overshoot was gone. I disabled FreeSync and it remained fine.
I was wrong. My mistake for not noticing this before.
The reason of the huge overshoot is when FreeSync isn't active when the computer turns on.
HDMI doesn't even let me activate FreeSync I have no idea why, according to the manual it should.
I had FreeSync off when i turned off the computer and even with the DP cable, when it booted to Windows, the cursor had that huge white trail of light with TraceFree 100 and just a bit with 60. I activated FreeSync and it was all fine again. The funny thing is I can now turn FreeSync off without it getting screwed again. But before i turn off the computer i need to turn FreeSync on again or it will boot with huge overshoot.
So FreeSync does fix the overshoot but is not necessary to have it enabled once it runs.
Now, it fixes the overshoot but let me be clear, it's not 100% perfect because I notice it in the cursor, web scrolling and ufo test, like I said before, but at 60 I would say it's perfectly fine and with 100 it can have some tweaking.
With the settings I posted above, TraceFree 60 is perfect in ufo test and 100 shows a corona but while playing I don't see it anywhere, so it's must be very faint.
With what I observed, I don't understand:
a) How Karavanasam says it's fine with 100 when he doesn't even have FreeSync with his graphics card. It simply overshoots alot without it.
b) How Notty says it has overshoot and ghosting at 60 and 100 it's unbearable. Could it be that FreeSync didn't load ?

No friend I was wrong.I noticed that yesterday. No one is perfect.

My GPU doesnt support Fsync. There is no Gsync setting in my Nvidia settings but somehow when I activate Fsync from monitor menu,Fsync works.I think monitor makes this happen and forces GPU to use it without knowing it.So when I use Fsync from monitor, there is a lot less overshoot when TF:100.Also when TF:100 monitor also is similar to a CRT monitor or ELMB on setting. It is that fast.I am playing games like crazy these days so I couldnt have time for comments.I am loving it really.

I don't think that's possible. The drivers (wich you cannot install) are the ones that make FreeSync work so even if you can enable it in the monitor it wouldn't do anything because there is no way to communicate with the video card.
In fact, I disabled G-Sync compatibility in Nvidia drivers to try what you said and the overshoot is back. So I don't know where you going with this.
I'll just leave it here...

Yes friend I also find it weird.I reinstalled Windows 10 64 bit yesterday.Started playing Paladins with vsync off.It was fast but not smooth. So I decided to use monitors Fsync setting again. When I turned Fsync On,monitor suddenly turned it off itself then it turned on after a second or two.And it started to act like Prad.de says.Less overshoot when 165hz TF:100.It is like a different monitor now.I see a lot less color and reverse ghosting. And a lot more smooth.I am glad I reinstalled windows yesterday and turned monitors fsync setting on.I also updated my bios before that day.I did all I could for this smooth performance.

This is interesting! Can you do me a favour, can you open cru and create custom 165hz res with LCD reduced option? That should give you same overdrive performance as gsync, but at the cost of gpu never downclocking the clocks/idling. You can just reset everything afterwards no problem. Thanks!

Doesn't work.
I added in detailed resolutions.
In extension blocks CEA-861 there is the 1920x1080 164.917 Hz.
I didn't dare to touch that.

I think i need to edit the extension block CEA-861 1920x1080 164.917 Hz.
Safe to do it ?
