Re: ViewSonic XG2431 Discussion Thread [Blur Busters Approved XG2431 - 24" 240Hz IPS with Best Strobing]

Is there news for the 1440p model?
Who you gonna call? The Blur Busters! For Everything Better Than 60Hz™
https://forums.blurbusters.com/
Better than all the single-strobe 60hz TN panels (including XL2411P) in my experience.
Thank you for the compliment!
Light = Strobe Pulse Width 40%
The Pulse Width is the brightness method. You trade between motion clarity and brightness.
At VBI total 2200 you can dial up to a more flicker-resistant 75Hz or 80Hz easily. The 120Hz refresh rate even works at 2200.AnalogueInterface wrote: ↑03 Mar 2022, 04:39I. Am. Stunned. I set my VBI Total to 2200 @ 60Hz and dialed in my Strobe Pulse Width to 20, Overdrive to 5, and Strobe Pulse Phase to 83, and this looks insanely clear motion-wise.
It's not even the best you can get -- you're only using 2200 at 60Hz?AnalogueInterface wrote: ↑03 Mar 2022, 04:39There is NO crosstalk! If I were to be the absolute most nitpicky, I can barely see faint (and I'm talking equivalent to CRT Phosphor trails) ghosting on the UFOs at the top and bottom.
Very good calibration if you're using only 2200! I usually need Vertical Total 3000+ at 60Hz to dial the crosstalk to zero for very top/center/bottom. But it does vary slightly on panel (panel lottery in GtG variances, and temperature-based GtG variances).AnalogueInterface wrote: ↑03 Mar 2022, 04:39It's something that I'd only seen on my CRT beforehand. Bonus points for no phosphor trails from panning over the fluorescent lights in a dark room.
You should raise your refresh rate slightly, even 75Hz or 90Hz will allow most GPUs to keep framerate=Hz. 75Hz and 90Hz is much more tolerable than 60Hz. Unless your game is 60fps-locked, which means you're stuck with 60Hz single-strobe.AnalogueInterface wrote: ↑03 Mar 2022, 04:39The only drawback perhaps is that the strobing can be a bit harsh compared to my CRTs on brighter scenes (or excel spreadsheets) due to the lack of that familiar CRT phosphor decay, but in video watching and games it's hardly noticeable.
High compliment when anybody use Blur Busters tuned panels as CRT replacements!AnalogueInterface wrote: ↑03 Mar 2022, 04:39Suffice to say, I finally have a replacement for my Compaq MV940 and Gateway-branded VX720 Diamondtron
There are two different pixel response benchmarks, GtG and MPRT, as seen in Pixel Response FAQ; GtG Versus MPRT.pmbaron wrote: ↑18 Mar 2022, 06:25Hey there,
im using currently a XL2540 as my main gaming display. How much of a difference will the jump to the XG2431 make? Thinking of ordering once it hits European store shelfs.
On a side note: Since the first batch of proper OLED gaming monitors is slowly arriving, how does the motion claritiy of the AW3423DW stack up against the XG2431? Sorry if this question seems illegitimate, I'm just wondering since OLED pixel response times are a magnitue lower than even TN panels
