Mouse polling rate issue

Hello,
when I run my mouse at a refresh rate of 1000hz, windows keep moving for a while even though the mouse isn't moving anymore.
In games, the character spins like a spinning top when the world is loading or the FPS is dropping.
My system:
Mouse: G305 Lightspeed Wireless
Keyboard: K800 Illuminated Wireless
Mainboard: Asus Maximus VIII Hero
CPU: i7-6700K
GPU: GTX 570
OS: Win10 64x

Have you tried all USB ports on your PC? Also, if there's a BIOS update for your mainboard, try updating to it.

Hello,
when I run my mouse at a refresh rate of 1000hz, windows keep moving for a while even though the mouse isn't moving anymore.
Another theory: Mouse driver (and its event routines in games) pegging 100% of CPU core.
I see that happen with some applications that lag behind in processing mouse events.
Check if your mouse driver has high CPU utilization.
If this is determined, some optimization work may be in order (check settings, switch mouse drivers, temporarily disable onboard audio (on some motherboards, Realtek driver can sometimes bog down mouse for some weird reason) motherboard change, CPU change, PCIe USB card, USB port roulette, etc)
This may not be your diagnosis, but this is a problem with 8000 Hz mice, but it still affects some 1000 Hz mice to an extent, especially on older systems or inefficiently written software.

does that mean the mouse is working fine on 500hz?
get a second mouse to find out if it's the mouse or the system. if you have a laptop try the mouse far away from them antennas.

Signal interference is a possibility too, try turning off any sources of wireless signals.
