Gsync not working in games in borderless windowed mode even though I changed the setting in Nvidia control panel

So as the title says
I recently got a 165 hz monitor and trying to get GSync to work
so far in CSGo, BF1 and Apex, gsync seems to not work unless I'm in fullscreen mode
I've already gone into the Nvidia control panel and under Gsync settings changed it to work in windowed applications too but it doesnt seem to
Switching the game to fullscreen will instantly make it Gsync smooth
