2 Ohms ground path resistance..

To anyone who's interested in grounding and whether it is related to our lag issues: I recently did a full checkup on electricity used at the apartment. Needless to say, the guy checking it was unprofessional since he literally used the wrong tool to verify whether the grounding it's up to code or not. Regardless of that, the separate ground path to my PC was 1 electrode that is used mainly used for my PC receptacle while the rest of the apartment is grounded through the building's grounding system.
1 week later, 6 ground rods and all the tools that were needed got purchased, a good electrician with a ground resistance measuring device came and installed them. The procedure took about 8-9 hours, he was able to drive 2 rods at the same time for a total of 3 meters into the ground. So, 3 holes 2.5 meters apart, 2 rods in each hole. We did a ground resistance measure before the final step "hooking the system to the main ground busbar of the electrical panel in the apartment", and the device showed a path resistance of 2.1 ohms, which is by all means, perfect. The electrician also brought ground conductivity enhancement materials just in case we needed them, but he advised against using it since the resistance is already low enough and spending $60 dollars on that bag doesn't yield any benefit worth mentioning, in my case at least.
So we linked the rods and then hooked it up to the main electric panel using a 10mm gauge ground wire, which is an overkill for sure, but hey, I just wanted the best possible installation so that I can put this behind me. The entire setup with the electrician's fees and the earlier checkup did set me back about $800. $220 for the absurd inexperienced, unprofessional rip-off of a checkup, and $580 for the entire ground installation.
The question you're probably here for is, were my lag issues resolved? The answer is: I don't know. If you ask me right-off the bat I'll say NO it did not help what so ever. I'll have a definitive answer once I'm done with fully grounding every piece of appliance in my apartment. Refrigerators, Freezer, Ovens, Microwave, Air fryers, TV's, Water Heaters, fans, Air Conditioners, etc. I will also look into renewing the current breakers, since last time those were installed it was back in 2012.
The new grounding system was installed about a week ago, and I had plenty of time to make sure of my observation. That said, I'm still not a 100% comfortable in saying that it did not help at all. Part of the reason is, I might end up getting a new PC, after I'm done with all the electricity stuff. The PC that I'm currently using now was ungrounded for about 6 months before the need of grounding came to play when the keyboard "ducky with aluminum casing" started literally shocking me every time I came in contact with it. All parts of that PC were changed except for the PSU and the CPU. My point is; maybe they got damaged, who knows.
Things to consider:
- Electrical wiring coming from the Power Company in the form of a TT installation, 3-phase and a neutral.
- Single Phase is supplied to my apartment with 230V @ 50hz.
- Bonding between Neutral and Ground in the main panel can't be done for it being a TT installation.
- Grounding rods, bonders & connectors were all purchased from Furse, which is one of the best in its industry.
- 6 grounding rods for a single apartment is way too many, what is important is the resistance and not the quantity. Even though they are directly proportional, the ground resistance itself plays a biggest role.
- I live in a Ground Floor apartment which made it possible for me to do the installation freely since there's a garden pretty much all around.
I'll keep updating this post with the rest of the steps, and whether they'd be of any help to the lag issues or not. It'll take time, since I'm a little bit busy with work atm, and I can hardly find time for it. Hopefully within the coming couple of weeks or so.
