Benq xl2546k input Lag

Post by Remmi92 » 12 Oct 2022, 21:21

Hey Guys, you are my last chance and i hope you can help me :?

i use a Benq xl 2546k for Pc and Ps5. I play Fifa and Cs Go. When I set up in Cs Go 1920x1080 everything feels much slower in contrast to 4:3. In Fifa, it's the same. Fifa is unplayable in 1920x1080 for me because everything is totally slow. Now I use the monitor on the PS5. Resolution is 1920x1080 60 Hz. When I play Fifa there, everything is extremely slow and i feel a big input lag. Its not responsive for me.are there any settings or tweaks that fix the problem? My 10 Years old Tv with 40+ ms feels smother and responsive. Thank you for your time!

Note that 4:3 stretched as a resolution will always feel faster than a 16:9 resolution, since your monitor is technically displaying less pixels on a 4:3 res. It will give you larger targets, but also faster perceived movement, compared to the 16:9 res.

regarding the ps5 feeling slow (just to get it out of the way) see attatched image, found on the fifaforums site. ensure your ps5 is running a 120hz connection, since responsetime is far greater at 120hz, compared to 60hz. I do not own a PS5 myself, so had to do some reading on this. Since the PS5 does not have a displayport input, ensure that the HDMI cable you're using is a HDMI 2.1.
You should also go into your PS5's settings, and ensure that 120hz support is set to automatic, rather than off. While you're already in your settings, go check if HDCP has been enabled. this goes for both your PC and PS5 btw.

since the PS5 doesnt support 240hz, i guess this could be a factor, and it might actually mess around with the responsetime from
GPU->monitor on your pc's end (im not an expert on this)
probable solution: try disconnecting your PS5 from the monitor completely, so you only have one cable plugged into the pc.
which cpu/gpu are you running on your pc btw? and have you done any custom resolution settings through CRU?

This might be a dumb response from me, but have you ensured that your (hopefully) displayport, or HDMI 2.1 cable is plugged into your GPU, and not your motherboard?

i will assume you run an nvidia GPU, since the majority of the gpu sales are from them, so here is another (possible) solution
IF you have done some CRU stuff on your monitor, try reinstalling your nvidia drivers (REMEMBER TO RUN A DEBLOATED INSTSALLATION) and ensure your GPU/monitor settings are being reset to factory/default settings.

if none of these solutions work, then i can recommend trying out MarkC's mouse movement recorder, to try and see if the issue in csgo is caused elsewhere, like the pollingrate of your mouse fluctuating ALOT - look up MarkC mousefix on google, i won't link it here, because im not entirely sure if im allowed due to ToS :p

another thing you can do to try and troubleshoot your issue (on your pc's end) is running rivatuner (RTSS) with a framerate/frametime display, frametimes should be not over 10ms if you can run the game at 240fps. the lower the value, the better. if frametimes exceed the threshold, you might be dealing with some sort of bottleneck in your system, which limits your pc's performance.

as the last possible solution i can think of, is to check how your graphics performance is for CSGO.
click on the windows icon in your taskbar, and search for "Graphics settings", and press "ENTER"
You should be prompted with a windows that resembles the image below.

From here, if its not already showing up in the displayed list of programs, click browse, and locate the CSGO.exe. Don't use the appID shortcut, which steam creates. the actual exe file can be found in this directory:
\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-strike Global Offensive.

Select the exe file and hit "OK"

Back in your Graphics settings window, locate CSGO, and click on it. I currently don't have the game installed myself, so im using Quake Champions as an example, but it's the exact same for CSGO. (See image)

ensure the game is first of all: running on your GPU, you can check this by clicking on the "options" button.
You will be prompted with a popup which looks like the attatched photo below.

ensure that "High performance" is selected, and not powersaving, or "let windows decide" if you have a CPU with integrated graphics, windows sometimes confuses your GPU with it, so ensure "high performance is selected, with your GPU model displayed underneath.

sorry for the long post, but you're not giving much info about anything, except for the fact that 4:3 runs good, but 16:9 doesn't, so i had to work from my own assumptions :D
