and then first dismissing it, i went and dug deeper.

I did different Test on different server locations but the results seem always be the same

]I did the first set of test with standard settings with CTF ON on the Router
despite looking kind of decent in the average it was spiking up and down
So i thought, well i am reaching the maximum of my bandwidth so maybe i am bottle necking somewhere.
So i went into the Router and halved my bandwidth
Results where even worse So i went ahead and limited the Bandwidth to 1000kbits inside the Router and despite looking semi decent in the average endresults, during the tests it would always spike up to 22-25ms I really would like to see your results, is this an isolated phenomenon for me or do you experience similar results with your provider.

Maybe Chief was right after all suspecting jitter as one of the main culprits for desync/lag

I went from 160ms avg with 500ms spikes to stable 5ms with an openwrt router, it made zero difference in terms of desync. You can use the forum search, other people have made similar experiences with gaming routers.

I run freshtomato on an overclocked r7000.
Just ran a idle trace to a CSGO server, this just can`t be good right? What the fuck is this even?

well repeat the test with other servers, could be a problem with your router.

This is how an absolute crap looks like

For comparison 1gbit connection on FTTH.
All traffic shaping is done on ISP side even though I could do it also on my side, I don't need to.
Second ISP also with FTTH and using same routers does have much worse bufferbloat, but even with shaping on my router it does not get as good as the first one.

When I had this issue, I also switched between both ISP, there was never much difference in gaming (only ping was different on different servers and routing a bit different)
When forcing low speeds on browser, you should also get good results.

There are 5 providers in my house, 3 large companies, and 2 local small resellers. Large companies ignore all messages in support.

I did the same and within 2 weeks they promised to upgrade their infrastructure because it's obsolete and it has not been touched for 15 years at least. I hope they will take it seriously and install something above my expectations.
