How to undo VG248QE registry hack?

I used this registry hack without backing up my registry, now that I have seen that for desktop use it degrades color uniformity badly I have decided that I want to disable it again. But now every time I used 3D in game the desktop stays in light boost mode. Is there any undo registry file I can apply?

Registry hack? I was only aware of an INF override. And you can simply roll back/uninstall that and put the default monitor driver back on.

If you're talking about CRU.exe, and custom resolutions, just use reset-all.exe

Thanks for replying, I am talking about this hack: http://www.blurbusters.com/files/ForceL ... lasses.reg which only works if you use Nvidia 3D Vision. The hack works alright, but since I didn't check or backup the previous values I cannot revert now.

Oh I understand now.
You want to KEEP lightboost but not have it active on the desktop, just in games?
Ok, that I don't know about. (I'm on AMD, although I've used my Geforce laptop to unlock lightboost with a dvi-hdmi cable; hard to do without a real dvi connection).

Isn't there an option in the Nvidia control panel for stereoscopic 3d only in 3d, and one for "always enabled?"

The whole point of this registry hack is to always have Lightboost enabled after having played a game in 3D and I always play a game in 3D, so everytime after playing a game I have a terrible desktop experience unless I reboot or change refresh rates and that option is already set to "only use it in 3D programs".
If there is no other way, I will simply remove all NVIDIA drivers and check the registry and delete it, after that reinstall the drivers.

In an emergency, there are several easy ways to turn off LightBoost:

1. Download ToastyX StrobeLight. You can then turn LightBoost OFF that way.
It is easy to turn ON/OFF LightBoost with it.
If you use stereoscopic 3D glasses, make sure you download the correct version.

2. Unplug and plug in your monitor from the power outlet. LightBoost will be turned on until 3D is reactivated.

For the .reg uninstall, open the .reg file in a text editor to find what key is modified. Next, open regedit (Start -> Run -> "regedit") then navigate to the same location as the key, and then delete the key that was installed.

Also, it is worth mentioning that newer strobe technologies (BENQ Blur Reduction, EIZO Turbo240, NVIDIA ULMB) have much better color quality than LightBoost.

Thanks for the info, nr 2 I have already tried with indeed no permanent effect.
About the reg uninstall, those keys normally aren't there and I can simply delete them? Great, that is what I will try then, thanks!
