Hi,
Recently, my Benq XL2411Z came from the service with firmware V003-20140424. I looked on the internet and couldnt find any info about V3 firmware. Just to fulfill my curiosity, can anybody tell me more info about this firmware ?
I bought it in Slovakia 1 month ago, it was firmware V1 - sent it to service - after 1 month (service, even the transportation was charge free) came back and the service window shows this version of firmware.
The blurbusters strobe utility works fine - just curious what else its new in this version - I think something minor, not worth mentioning

That's interesting. Do you see new settings somewhere? Hoping for new AMA settings (but it surely won't be that

).

I havent noticed anything different, but I was using it only for 1-2 days before sending it for the upgrade. The AMA setting is the same.
Edit: now when i think of it - game modes (fps1,2) are preset with blur reduction on, that wasnt the case with V1

I asked local tech support and they gave me firmware "XL2411Z_V3_20140424_C4C8.BIN"

With only one description: new firmware for improving Gamer saving settings.

Better if Chief will clarify what's new in V3 and ask BenQ to share firmwares for all Z models or just publish them at blurbusters.com

Upgraded with this V3 firmware

Hm... or it's placebo or AMA works better (regular 144Hz mode, BBR OFF).

I think it's small changes such as better memorization of Low Blue Light Mode in the Gamer profile settings.
There is no change in blur reduction in V003, as far as I know. V002 and V003 are the same for BENQ Blur Reduction behavior, as far as I know.

Shame no sign of this getting an official release.
I see the XL2420Z is often coming with v004 and there's a discussion online here
https://www.avforums.com/threads/shocki ... q.1709804/ where they told a user to send their monitor in to update it to v006, I take it they're XL2420 specific though ?

Um......dude.....
That's the XL2420T not the 2420Z.
And that dude is an uneducated crybaby. And that's an OLD post.
He's crying because you cant adjust gamma settings in the FPS modes?
Does he even *KNOW* what the FPS mode EVEN DOES IN THE FIRST PLACE?
There's a reason you cant adjust gamma settings in the FPS modes.
It's because the BLACK EQUALIZER adjusts the gamma as well as some RGB tones. Also certain colors are calibrated differently. Like in the RTS mode, certain light blue shades are unaffected, but dark blue is changed to light blue.
You can test it in lagom gamma test. When changing certain values of the black equalizer, you can see the gamma change at certain values. I think one change is at "2", and another change is at "18". Having the gamma setting unlocked would completely screw up the equalizer.
So yeah please read before you post links and check the dates. That's from 2012 -.- There's no 004 for the Z monitors, only the unofficially unreleased 003 (which some come shipped with now).
