Not just 3 inches, but a higher resolution, which requires a faster panel to run (8-bit instead of the usual 6). Great points I failed to consider. Regarding the OP, I have not seen any retailer with even a pre-order page up in the US. I have to say though, Asus' timing is right. You might want to look into the Acer XB270HAbprz instead. Looks like the price is similar to the AOC, but it's 27" and has an 8-bit panel which in theory means better colors.
